Hey how’s it going, although I am fairly new to the TP guild I feel I should contribute a little to this thread.
My experience so far has been great in this guild, when they say it’s the ppl that make the organization, it is certainly true here.
Although not very large, the guild has some very nice and helpful ppl, who do more than play this game all day. Maybe that’s why they are usually exceedingly patient with new comers and very helpful in terms of pointing out your weaknesses. bonk (both of them and all numerous of their accounts) and dval who you'll get to meet spent numerous hours coaching me in game and afterwards. They scolded me when I made terrible trades, and were very good at providing me with means of figuring out relative rune prices. I find that all of the other members of the guild are also very generous when trading with newer players often trading runes for well below their cost.
[They are very generous with their huge collections of common/uncommon/rare runes ;-)]
There are other members of the guild of course whom I know less well, but who are not less deserving of my praise. Personally I would like to keep the guild small, but that would be unfair to you reader, so reluctantly and probably only because I am having beer, I extend my hand and invite you to join us.

*BUMP*
TEAM PURPLE is getting a little more selective in new recruits but is still open. We'd like to see players who have a good win/loss ratio in DoW.
TEAM PURPLE will can you for gross immaturity (excessive spam, flaming, offensive remarks in or out of matches, etc) but that's about it.
We do welcome new players who are SERIOUS about competitive play.
Currently we have a tourney scheduled with nice prizes you can read about in this forum.
i'm newb still play using sample...if there is any unused decks, you can pass to me and i'll join you

CONGRATS TEAM PURPLE on reaching #9 in Guild Rankings! Hard work and serious gaming pays off! :)
Be wary purples, drums of war sounding in the near distance from FIRK Guild, Forglar Intel and Recon Kommitte...
Fleshing out details of a Guild Throwdown so keep your battle-edge honed, let's beat them at their "intel and recon" so when this goes down TEAM PURPLE dines on FROG LEGS!!!! ;)
-dvalmont
ps- nuji- regarding your last post; while we do welcome "newbs", we would highly prefer if you'd already made the commitment of buying your own initial runes and becoming familiar with the game and it's competitive aspects before we would issue an invite. Thanks, good luck.

Hello Fellow Guild Members:
This is my first post on the forums. I am very honored and pleased that I was accepted into Team Purple. I would like to thank whoever is in charge of accepting guild applications for accepting mine. I have every intention of making my presence worthwhile to Team Purple. Even though I am new to PoxNora, I think I have pretty good BG, but I am always open to suggestions and pointers. I read somewhere back that guild members will sometimes observe a battle and give advice at the end. That would be greatly appreciated. I would like to mention (just to give myself a pat on the back) that I recently beat a level 4 opponent in spite of being meerly a level 1 player. I'm sure that that will a rare success for me, but it still felt good. :P However I would like to know how can I go about setting up an appointment with someone in order for them to observe my battle and give some pointers.

What Nobody said, if you want pointers and want your game to be watched, just log in and ask whoever is on to do so. If they aren't busy I'm sure they won't have any problem. Nobody is a good candidate, he's currently ranked in the top 50 and only plays a couple games a day so if he's on he's probably just hanging out and free to help you out with some very good advice.
I'm also usually free and actually enjoy watching games and helping out where I can, I've played almost every faction so while certainly not an expert on any of them have what I believe worthwhile advice to contribute.
Welcome to the guild.

The next toruney should be the "fri auto-wins common only highlander" (special rule - if you play against fri666 you surrender. if not you're DQed), the prizes should be 2xLK's for first place, 2xDK's for second place and 10xGrundelwulfs for third... i think it would be a fun tourney, but i don't think i would have time to attend it :P

We could try a no spell tourney, maybe a 10/10 HL. Or we could go theme decks, like serpents, allowing circus. Because circus is ever so fun.

you got it all wrong :P
I look forward to meeting you and exchanging formalities and after that maybe even casual chit-chat with you!
Oh, good luck to you too, especially in DoW - you see, our guildmaster, Almo, is very unforgiving and everytime you loose you need to give him 3 rares or you're out of the guild.
ofcourse all of the above is just kidding (except to looking forward to meet you).
'Mont is a very nice guy (so is everyone else in the guild) and he'll prolly end up showering you with free runes :)
god, what is up with me today...
anyways - the next tourney should be - wait for it - a tourney with groups. you know like in soccer championships and the like where everyone playes everyone else and then you gain an amount of points (win=3, draw=1, loose=0) and make a ladder from that - then make it single round elimination in the top 4 or smth. we could spread the tournament over the few days. the main prob is there prolly wont be enough ppl.

Rather than just no spells, how about an all-champ tourney like what you have to have for capture the flag in AG?
Or, and I suggested this once before, an all level 1 champ tourney. Only thing we would need for this is to find out the spent CP cutoff number for level 1, anybody know?
I'm actually going to post that question in general chat just in case nobody doesn't.

I'm pretty sure the cutoff for level 1 is 45 cp spent.

Hi I am looking for a new quild nothing happens much on mine anymore. how is it with you guys do things happen often with this quild? Are there a lot of people active in this quild?
bonk322
10-23-2008, 07:40 AM
In my opinion we have just the right number of actives in this guild. We aren't too small and we aren't too big so whenever you log on you'll have between 2-10 names to talk to but never be overwhelmed with 50 unknown names.
We talk a lot too, joking around, giving advice, spectating each others games and making productive and sometimes unproductive comments lol.
As far as what we do, we have about one tournament a month now and dvalmont (our guild leader) and I myself both contribute exotic runes as prizes to those tournaments (which have a theme, so far we've had an all common and a highlander tourney and are thinking up ideas for next month's). The tournaments are only open to TP members to register as is the guild bank which has over 1500+ runes in it. And we occasionally have "battles" with other guilds, we had one with FIRK not long ago that we only lost by one match (and it was a disqualification because not all registrants showed up in time at that.)
The one thing I will mention is that lately we've been a little more discriminatory on who we offer membeship too because we would like to climb the guild rankings chart. Not as much as other guilds (no need to be top 200 or anything) but at the very least I know we require a positive DoW score. Yours is, but only barely, and the guild will try to coach you to be a better player but we would expect you make an effort to improve your rank.
I hope that answers all your questions, I'll make sure dvalmont sees your request and sends you a message one way or another.

Thanks for the interest Cauios07!
Honestly i'm not real comfortable sending an invite to a player already affiliated with another guild. Seems a little shady to me...
So yeah, all we really ask to apply is positive dow w:l ratio, not too much "-" points in faction ratings and that you're an active, mature, respectful player.

Not quite, he tries to fool you with "rune emporium values" but most stores including that one will either not take rares for exos or will only take them at half value and none of them accept tokens at any value for exotics.
You're not a store and LKs are the most sought after exotic in the game so I would not take any rares or tokens at value, only as sweeteners. Require a bid to make a good offer in exotics which 2x DK and a Talgar are not for 2x LK. But that's just my opinion.

11-03-2008, 10:25 AM
It's a judgement call. By store prices the last one is a good bid, but I think both the Faultbreaker and the Deep Elf Fanatic's prices are a little bloated. The Faultbreaker is still benefiting from "new rune syndrome" and is probably going to drop considerably after the new expansion is released. Also, the Deep Elf Fanatic is listed as a Tier 2 rune when I hardly ever see anybody in the top 200 play him. But it is a decent bid nevertheless if you plan to play the Faultbreaker and DEFs, I would at the very least let the trade run out, a lot of people like to bid in the last couple hours like eBay.

Just wanted to say hello to my new guildmates and introduce myself briefly. I'm still a relative noob (been playing about a month) but have been getting OK results in AG and as soon as I manage to get my hands on a pair o' Clay Forms my BG will be DOW ready. (anyone know what the deal is with Clay Forms in the single rune store? No price listed and although it doesn't say out of stock it doesn't give you a buy option either - very odd) Anyway I'm working the trades and working on my game and happy to be a part of what looks like a very cool guild! See you all in the trenches!

Greetings everyone
My in-game name is Mizerve. (I don't know why it uses another name here in the forum so i thought i would point it out.)
I sent an application to your guild, but i thought it would be the least of the courtesy to introduce myself in your thread first.
I started playing Pox Nora a month ago. I've been doing my study, playing tutorials and all and am now dominating the training ground to a point where it's not fun anymore. So while i was looking for a new challenge, i stumbled upon your guild. Shattered peaks being my choice around which i want to build a competitive deck, your group strikes me as a good place to grow as a SP Player.
Now, it's important for me to be honest about one thing before you even consider taking me in your team: I'm a game developer myself, who has been working on a card/board for the past 3 years. The game i'm working on will be released on PC in the second quarter of 2009, and on Xbox live arcade in 2010. Therefore, my time here will most likely be a short one, as i expect to be fully drawned back to my work once we get closer to release. (My guess is around april) This means i will most likely stop playing Pox Nora then, and focus on my own community of players. But as a game designer, i got a lot of time on my hands right now. The game concepts are ironed out, so beside the daily testing of new versions, i'm waiting for the coders to finish the job while trying to find the best hobby in the mean time.
It's fair to say that i'm a natural in card games and gaming in general. I've worked in this industry for 2 decades, for companies such as Ubisoft and EA before becoming independent 3 years ago. My assumption is that i can contribute to your guild with my gaming culture, and competitive spirit. That being said, i'm not here to broadcast my game or make cheap publicity for it. There will be thousands of people playing it on the Xbox a year from now so, that would be a waste of my time to spam those boards (and other games i play) in order to get a few dozen more. That's not to say i won't be critical about Pox Nora though. As a game designer, i tend to get irritated at recurring gaming flaws and unfixed bugs and will speak about them if they jump into my face. So if you're looking for a goody 2 shoes who just swallows everything thrown at him with a smile, i'm not your man. I know all too well what's good and what's not to remain silent about what could be improved, and i consider it a duty to put my experience and vision to contribution in any games i play. (Wether the developper or gaming community uses my solutions or not, it's not my problem. I go to sleep knowing that i did what i could to make the industry i love that much better.)
So i guess this rounds it up. If you're looking for a solid partner for the next 3 months, i'll gladly tag along with you guys. Of course, i'll be waiting for a positive answer before shelling out money into this game. I'm currently playing with a few runes that one of my friend (the guy in the forum name) gave me after selling his own runes collection. He told me that he got bought out of the game and i'm here to figure out if it's possible to be competitive without mortgaging your house. I never was a free loader, so if the game has potential beyond the training ground and providing i can join a good team here, i'll put a few bucks in; if only to support a game i like since i understand the importance to demonstrate financial support to other independent gaming developer such as myself.
On those words, i look forward to playing and most importantly: Compete with you all!
Yours
Mizerve

Hello again
So i'm not sure where i should go to ask this, but i've been told in the guild channel to look into the extra runes in the guild bank in order to get me started with missing commons to rares. What i'm looking for is Shattered peaks. I've provided a list of what i need (or would like to experience) so, anything that can be spared among those lines will make me that close of jumping into the competition.
Here's the list in alphabetical order:
CHAMPIONS
BAT SWARM
CYCLOP BATTLEFIEND
FIRE BOMBER (X2)
GHERN ISANGOMA
GHERN OVERLORD
GHERN TASKMASTER (X2)
GHERN THROWER (X2)
HYAENID SPEARMAN (X2)
MOGA CANNON (X2)
MOGA CREEPER
MOGA SLINGER (X2)
MOGA ZEALOT
MOGAHERN DESTROYER (X2)
MOUNTAIN LION
MUD ELEMENTAL (X2)
OOZING SLAG
PIT WOLF
RECKLESS SPELLHACK (X2)
VOIL LIFESTEALER
VOIL SCREECHER
VOIL SORCERER
SPELLS
AVALANCHE
BAD BLOOD
DISTRACT

Once again, i really appreciate the support given and will be happy no matter if my wish list is filled or not.
Best regards, and thanks to all of those who made that kind of support possible!

Hmm... And what would be wrong with that?
Makes me think of the republican biggots during the american election, where you could hear that women chearing for McCain calling Barrack Obama and "arab"... So what if he would be? When did it became "wrong" to be gay friendly and open minded about races? I know ass holes of every nationality and races, so it sure doesn't come with a "good or bad" trend. As i hear this, you are probably caucasian like me, and a pure ass whipe. Henceforth we're not all made of the same metal even if we bear the same color.
Only one thing to say about that: Get your head out of your ass, and join us all in the 21st century or else, get burried along with your biggotry because that's the last thing this world need at this juncture of it's history.

Uhhh, I'm baffled that you jump to the conclusion of me insulting you as the only logical explanation.
When I saw Team Purple; I was interested because I thought it would be a gay friendly-guild, because... I'm gay. Which was my initial interest in joining. I've always been a fan of, for the lack of the term, "gay-centric" gatherings in video games (I was in a gay guild in WoW, Starcraft/WC3, FFXI).
Hence why I started with the qualifier: NO OFFENSE.
Regardless; k.
Next time, don't make so many baseless accusations.

Fair enough. Then i guess you should had asked if it was the case. The way you put it, it sure didn't sound like a gay looking for a gay guild, but more like the usual "you look gay" type of comment that i despise. In any case: If you are indeed gay, and looking for a group of people that's open minded, my comment should come more as a breeze then as an offense. You know what you are, and what you meant. I might have jumped too quick, but i saw those kinds of remark a million times and it happened less then 1% of the time that it was innocent. I won't apologize for playing the odds.
I of course, will gladly welcome you in the guild should you choose to join us.

All right so Mr. Dvalmont, Bonk and Jaay, i got a good news; My programmer was able to setup a temporary link on our website to download the game application quickly. (Well as quick as 95mb can download on your computer anyway)
The link is: http://www.5dtheGame.com/download/5thD.zip
I suggest you try the "learn as you play" mode before we all step in and test a 4 player match up together. This will give you the ground basics of the game. I'll of course be more then glad to answer your questions after that.
If other guild mates wants to help us test our game, or simply have a look at the 5th Dimension card/board, they are welcome too. I see no reasons to keep you guys out of the loop. The test website can only support 20 simultaneous connection right now so, there's no worries for us to explode the bandwidth.
Keep in mind that the game is about 50% finished and still have bugs, especially in multiplayer mode. The game is meant to be played with 2, 3 or 4 players so, don't stick too long in solo mode or you'll get bored stiff real quick.
There are 3 realms which have their land effects implemented right now: Absolum, Anarkya and Camaalot. If you choose to play with any other realms, the land effect you see on the description of the lands won't work. (You will still get the income related to the land though)
We're uploading a new version every week or so, and i'll keep you informed every time we have a new build should you ask me to.
Looking forward to play with you all! (In Pox, or in 5thD)

Just to point out an error in the guild summary page:
"TEAM PURPLE is the premier guild for Tournament and competitive DoW play. Open to all factions, although we ask that you have a positive DoW W:L ratio before applying. Thanks!"
Point just one person out to me who has a negative ratio and I will give you all of my runes :).

Good point Alrikor, but I think people understand what we mean.
We mean a ratio of over 1.00. Which means you have more wins than losses. And just keep in mind that is not automatic acceptance, we want you to be active in DoW and actively try to get in the upper ranks.

Not for the reason that most people thought though... But i saw yesterday that Sony Entertainment Online ($OE) has taken over this game. I can't stand SOE as they have screwed so many player base over time. (For those who have played a bit in their life, just remember what they did to Everquest and Star Wars Galaxies. Not to mention the latest fiasco called Vanguard)
So i leave as a matter of principle, as i promised myself to "never" play a game govern by SOE ever again. I'll stick to it and sell my shattered peak collection, which is only missing 4 cards to be completed.
It was a good run, i had a good time and kicked some ass the time it lasted :-)
As much as i would wish you all a great time here, i can't help but warn you against the new take over: SOE thinks "nothing" of your investment into this game, and could change the game balance and values as they see fit without any consideration for anyone. If you are owning valuable cards, it might be the time to sell them now while they are still valuable because once SOE greedy asses starts to sell them all for 50$ each just to turn a buck out of it, yours will lose the previous value so if you can get a good price for it, i say go for it. Just sharing my 15 years experience and reading about them btw. Do what you wish with it, but don't come and cry once it happens because it "will" happen soon or later as they turn every single game they buy into banta poodoo.
On those words: The 5th Dimension won't be crooked so if you want to move on with an independent developer who really cares about the player base, you will be at home with us. I'll provide the link to our game one last time for those who don't have it.

dvalmont and TEAM PURPLE do not necessarily endorse or condone these views.
Perhaps i'm naive but until the sky does fall i'm not going to get in a tizzy about it nor encourage this behavior...
Happy poxing PURPLES, guild rank 8, hooah! :)

I've been playing 3 games per day for this iron man, except that some of the games were disconnected (due to my connection, hey, I live in Asia :P)
but if you average them out, I still prob spend over 30 min per game.
And now that the list of participants of ironman is out... I AM NOT ON THE LIST!
Boy am I mad & sad... :/

You should try my strategy of not playing at all. It's less disappointing.

BTW the image of the guild runebank is too low res to be able to make out the rune names or numbers. Or is it just me?
