The PoxNora Giving Tree Charity Event was a great success and experience, thanks to the $9,850 that was raised by the sale of the special rune!

We appreciate everyone who purchased a Giving Tree rune and helped in this event of giving to those in need. The Charity Event, itself, was a lot of fun - for anyone who has ever done something like this you’ll understand how much of an impact it has on those families and individuals who are struggling to make it. Thanks again for all your support.

I declare bad math, or lies. Just kidding. =p So really though, was the amount $9,850.14 with a total of 986 tree sold, and you're just truncating? Or is Octopi stealing that $0.14 from the charity? =p

I really just wanted to toss the math up in the thread here as to how many trees are now out and about. Question for the Hawkotpi though, is this. Since it's a LE rune, will there eventually be other ways to get it up until it reaches 1,000 of them for each faction?

I hope not, these Giving Trees should be exclusive and limited to the 985(986?) purchased. At least until next year around christmas where they could release them again or they could make santa hat equips that give the ability....

Reindeer champions! Each faction can get one of Santa's reindeer and then an LE Rudolph could be available for all factions. I really like the idea of seasonal runes every now and then. :D

For the santa hats we could also take the color of each faction and make the hats that color.

Lol. It could be an AoE 4 Blind 3 and that uncleansable effect for 3 turns for 40 nora? :p

All the other Reindeer should have Planar Instability imo. Rudolf is the only one that is allowed to be cloned. :p

The reason I feel they should do more of these later on (say next year or so), is so that they fall in line eventually with other LEs. That doesn't mean they should just release them freely again next year. Any time they sell them again, they should be done like a normal LE now, where the cost of them goes up depending on how many purchased, and only release so many to the Single Rune Store at a time, like they do with harbies. I'd say they are probably at about the same amount of total trees out there now, as there are total harbies. Just my thoughts. I'm really just hoping to get a green telling us if they will limit it to what it is now, or if they will eventually over time release the full 1,000 per faction.

I don't think that would be "good" to sell them again for profit...

I don't see any reason why not. The money they generated in a specific amount of time went to the charity. They are still a business designed to make a profit. If they weren't doing things for profit, they wouldn't have existed to make almost 10, 000 for the charity to begin with.

Looks like a cool event, but you should add some detail to the blog. I thought you were just handing over a big check, but it looks like you guys collected a ton of socks and wooden toys (nice job on the toys btw). And did a whole chicken dinner or something?

I'm pretty sure they had said something about volunteering to help out as well. Having a bunch of computer programmers cooking/handing out food seems weird though. O.o

Most charities around the holidays run year after year. I hope they do this same sale next year and give all the money to the Giving Tree charity again!

By the way, Limited Edition means 1,000 PER FACTION so thats 8,000 giving trees altogether. If they only sold 985 then that leaves another 7,015 to be sold in the coming years.

The money raised went into purchasing items for the charity that they needed/requested. Then the remaining amount was given to them. I would have captured a shot of this, but it was too dark and I had already put the camera away.

This would be fun. haha. Later down the line they could start hosting an annual christmas tourney where only the chrismas runes were allowed (this means they have to release a lot of them).
