I'm American, and grew up in Seattle, although I don't live there now (I miss the rain and the forests). I've completed the requirements for a bachelors in Economics, but am holding off graduation until I complete the requirements for my 2nd major in History. My economics background is probably why I end up on the conservative-libertarian scale of the political spectrum here in the USA. My favorite US president is Calvin Coolidge. My favorite color is green (probably from growing up in Seattle).
My handle "Sackett" comes form one of the Westerns written by Louis L'Amour. I enjoy reading all sorts of books. My favorites include "Lays of Beleriand" by Tolkien, "From the Earth to the Moon" by Verne, and "Mistborn" by Sanderson.
I'm not a huge anime fan, but I do have a few series that I like. My top 3 favorites are "Starblazers", "Maison Ikkoku", and "The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya" a rather eclectic selection for those who know what genres they belong to.
I began playing Pox back before the Drums of War expansion, when almost everyone in ranked played circus with 2x Finlord, 2x Lich Kings, 2x Drown, ect. My first exotic was an Ironfist Paladin so I played around with IS first, but soon switched to FF KF (Circus didn't interest me at all). After a while I began playing a lot of FF SL and I've been a fan of that faction ever since. Back when our best champions were the Ravager, the Draksar Archer (w/ Farshot 3), and the Crokadar Guardian.
I still enjoy IS and KF as well, and try to keep up with what is happening in those factions. I enjoy creating combos and theme decks, and my highest rank was achieved playing a KF/IS Common/Uncommon only "Butterfly" deck that used Butterfly Wings combined with Earth Golems and Oaken Defenders, and 100 Nora Sprites. (Back then Sprites were 1-3 range and very good champs). I created the deck specifically to counter the Monsoon/Drown/Drown that was so common in early DofW. I managed to break the top 100 twice with it- once in the first DofW, and the 2nd time right after the Skeezick Rebellion expansion and rank reset. I tried to see if I could do it again this month, but I'm afraid the game has shifted so much that the deck is no longer powerful enough without some drastic changes that would eliminate the "Butterfly" theme.
I also was one of the first to develop the Banish/Leech Deck. I think some others figured it out independently, but I was the one who published it on the forums and I played it rather heavily for a while before it became well known. Of course, my Banish/Leech deck was combined with a Fire Deck using Magma Bunnies and Fire Elementals, so it wasn't like I was running some powerhouse deck to rank climb- I just saw it as a fun combo and I'm rather sad to see it nerfed.
I also suggested the Drain the Earth rune a full expansion before it came out, (although my version had a larger Area of Effect) and that is one of the funniest things about PoxNora - is the interaction between the developers and the players.
My favorite champions have to be a toss up between the Skeezick Trapper, and the Crokadar Guardian. I play mostly FF SL right now, but I do have some ideas kicking around for further 10/10 shenanigans. We'll see what comes out of the next expansion.
