He tried to do it to me on my Spirit Singer (by acceptbid PM) now he's just scammed Tratz here:

http://www.poxnora.com/trader/viewtrade.do?id=936420

I dont know why I bother to say anything, not as if Octopi will sort out a permanent fix for the problem.

He just suckered me with an accept link that I thought would be a view link.

O0Do0oh000 Said:

"I have a K'lzik and Helm of Chaos up for trade that I am willing to trade just for that Skeezick general and skeezick blade.
http://www.poxnora.com/trader/acceptbid.do?tid=936420&bid=875011
But it's your choice of course.
Thx either way!

-O"

If anyone sends you a link with that bold chunk in it do not click it! Report him immediately instead. Black list O0Do0oh000 as well.

Note that Octopi Band-Aid'd the problem--there is a sizable warning dialogue box that pops up when clicking links. That said, Octopi does need to change the system so that this explot is no longer workable.

Isn't there some simple fix that bans people from writing "acceptbid" as part of any message?

That would be a simple scripted fix.

That would be a simple scripted fix.

Another player, called 'cinbot2', tried to make me accept a bid like this too. I reported to Hawk, and he is now blocked, got no right of doing trades :)

You know even if before actually accepting the bid if there were a step where everything was laid out before the actual trade and a pop up box asked "accept trade?" appeared before completion it would help also.

The link is actualy the part of clicking on the Accept buttons of a such thing.

That is how keyloggers are made. You have actualy to accept that the keylogger is installed on your computer, but the link they give you is actualy the scripted "Accept".

EDIT: Too many actualy in that post! and they all have typo >_<

Use a support ticket to get him a Perma-ban.

I've already started a ticket under "I have a complaint" but it may take a while for someone to get to it apparently.

I believe its been reported to hawk and or support tickets give it time as they will or have checked it out.

Dont forget to "NOT" click links that have any wording with "ACCEPT" in the link text.

I sent in a ticket on an unrelated subject the day the new forums went live, I got a notice that they had an extraordinarily high volume of tickets. It might be a while yet before they work through to yours. Still haven't gotten a response to mine.
