Possible switches

Spitter for a fire salaman or another SL - He's just all around more versatile, and if you upgrade flame strike he has a 1-5 range attack that charrs 4.
Marsh troll for a pirahnid - You have a lot of water generation, another semi wouldnt hurt
Font eruption for another backfire - Eruption just isnt all that great unless your running two. Double backfire is very potent, depending on the faction your playing against.

As for the spitters, I find them very useful but maybe i don't have enough experience to know better.

How effective is a gargantua really? I've never played it, so i'm not sure if it's really worth the nora or not.

Any other tips/suggestions (either gameplay-wise or BG-wise)?

Spitter is a great rune, I run one. It's only major flaw is that it can't do damage to FW champs, and it can't hurt shrines.

Take out shaman, backfire, 1 feeding frenzy, 1 moonsoon, both raptors (or one). Add 1 Font Eruption, warbanner(if you can), dreadeye (if you like DoT)(I dont run one), Firk Botanist (maybe two), Kartch, Finlord (if you can get one)..

x2 Font Eruption as very good against FW and other factions with good relics against FS. You might keep the shaman but I dont run one.. I hate backfire, end of.... u use fishfish drown.. I dont like that combo even tho I have fish drown in my bg..

Kartch is a must cuz hes a hero :P .. Firk Botanist are very powerful and can come in handy..

Oh, I forgot Cecealia.. very good semi aqua champ.. makes no possession for your champs to...

I'm going to try to play FS, as part of my goal to play every faction.

The problem is that my funds are a little limited, so I can probably only afford the one exo. Given that, who should I try to get? Currently I think it's a toss-up between Kartch and TideMaster.

Could someone give me some advice about this?

You don't need either one. I would go for findlord because he's so much cheaper.

i run mine at 108... and my marsh titan at 128... but we're FS.. when is nora a problem? With 54 nora raptors running around getting these guys out is never a problem..
