I logged in today to see that I had been given ownership of a guild, I had no warning and havn't even gotten an explanation as to why, the previous owner has already left the guild. I never had any intentions of running a guild and don't really know what to do. Any advice would be great.

Relinquish ownership to someone else (preferably in your existing guild). ;)

Well... If you are not inclined to take the reigns I would see if someone else in that guild might be.
I mean, it's as much work/responsibility as you want to make it. Which could be none, and I guess if you don't care and the people who stay don't either than that's what works for you.
Disbanding is always an option. TEAM PURPLE would happily assimilate you and/or any of your serious players who would like to join an active guild with lots of tournaments and stuff going on! :)

Take in only PDC members, have them leave to form the PDC guild, ignore all their requests to join the PDC guild yourself, and sit on top of an empty guild just because the name is awesome, and it's the oldest guild around.
There, get to work!

You just reminded me of my "Big Sister" Guild-Leader-ship (self-imposed) on an MMO. Drove me batty. Mostly because all the cool members would never log on and left for different servers, leaving me with a couple cool people who got on once in a blue moon and a couple regulars who were also uhh... Aggressive with interpersonal and authority issues?
It still scares me that I was the only one they listened to at all (which was about half the time, if that). One time, one of my two borderline-sociopaths got in a nice big internet fight (again) and took the oh-so-mature route of making a nice big report post on the other person involved. The other person's guildleader was a personal friend and told me. I asked him once, calmly, to not escalate things that much. He took it down in minutes.
Recounting this story to my friend who plays WoW.....I learned that his Guild, his Clan was over a hundred people in active attendance, and the mind boggles to learn of some much larger.
How do I get my guild listed in the directory?
Do I need more members than just me?
