So earlier today I was screwing around on the campaigns and messing with my FF ST. I figured I'd try Soul Frost at least once so I threw it into my build. I was curious to figure out something. I wondered what would happen if I used Soul Frost on a champ that had Frost Cone. Apparently it works and amazingly well at that. I threw a Yetihide Cape on a Freeze Bug, used Blizzard's Snowfall, then casted Soul Frost on the Bug. Using Frost Cone 2 on 3 Champs I managed to get around a 50 nora gain from it.

Now what happened next kind of surprised me, as I moved the Bug off the snow terrain and onto just plain dirt and proceeded to attack another champ. Well I managed to gain the nora from that attack as well. I'm not sure if that's a glitch in the game or not, as the desc for Soul Frost says it only works while on Snow/Ice, but apparently that's just to cast the thing.

Yep, the champion only needs to occupy ice/snow to be targeted for the spell.

Sounds like it's working like it's supposed to. :) If you can get it to work for you and turn a positive amount of nora, then rock on. :D

Well it's very abusive in campaigns. Haven't actually tried the combo for it in normal play, but I imagine it'll work just as well. Last game campaign I played, managed to rack up over 100 nora on it's own using Yetihide on a bug. And that was hitting only 3 targets with the two chances of Frost Cone. 13 dmg a piece. You could probably hit about 150 within those 6 turns if you hit a group of 4-5 and used Frost Amps. I don't know about you, but 150 nora in 6 turns seems alot more productive than even the Nora Beast. Not to mention by about the time the spell expires, you're able to cast it again.

Pretty much the best way to use it right now would be with frost cones on a high dmg champ. You can get 2 cones off in the spell's duration, as well as attacks in between, assuming the champ lives.

Amp'd elder would be the other logical choice, though mileage would vary to a larger degree.

It's pretty great for single player. Not so hot for "real" games yet :(

I think the butler did it, in the living room, with the butterknife.

Oh wait, wrong game. Anyways, I had no idea it only had to be cast on snow! I thought it only worked while the champ was on snow. Interesting!

See what a little investigating gets you?

I found this to be the most fun in the Grimlic campaign though on the last mission. After giving Mena a crapload of DMG through Inspire, slapping the Yetihide on him, then using Soul Frost, I gained 200+ nora within the 6 turns with him. It's just too bad that he dies halfway into the campaign. But at least by then you have enough nora to summon everything in your bg.

That would also be tons of fun.. as well as putting it on a Roon. But now we have a new target for it. His name is Glacial Titan.

Do units with a on death damage trigger or reflect damage trigger work with soul frost? Like Mirror shield or the Frost death explosion thingy?

No, Soul Frost says it works only with combat damage, which means damage on an attack. So Death Novas and Mirror Shields wont work as they're triggered effects and not combat effects.

i've known this for a while, i thought ppl knew but here's what i do with it.

Right now i have 2 DoW decks one a frost amp deck with no Aoe's (except galeforce)
and a snow prowler deck.

And i know what ur thinking prowler decks don't work, but they do, that deck got me to my highest rank yet, 1155 i think, without a single ice storm or yeti berserker and a large part of it is soul frost.

Cast frost on my prowler, drive it while hidden, but a crystal spike on it, and assisinate 2 with my stronger one (i have a beefy one and a fast one in there) and i nail 48-54 damge, which kills just about anybody in one shot+ plus chilled if that didn't finish em, and i refund the nora. And they can usually assasin again before soul frost wears off, and if they can't they can still do more damage. they usually bring in 70-150 nora, depending what i get off.

and as a side note i use a 94 noa icefisher which owns. Get's ppl down to 0 spd. Gale force through traps hehe.

It wins b/c no one excpects assasins from ST.
i feel good about it.
