They are able to do that sort of stuff relatively easily because of the engine they are using and the tech they can incorporate: http://gameware.autodesk.com/scaleform We can't use these new technologies because Pox is old unless we rewrite the code base.
Well, a new pox client couldn't be the worst thing to happen. It has obvious issues anyway. (Wasted space, memory leaks, cluttered buttons, poor scaling, the game start button hidden behind chat, just to name a few.) Aside from rewriting the base code. Considering we've had 4 generations of coders working on it; I'd say it's about time for a defrag... I'd be alright with no expansions for quite a while, so long as patches became more frequent to jostle the meta to keep it interesting.
Never gonna give you up, Never gonna let you down, Never gonna run around an desert you, Never gonna make you cry, Never gonna tell a lie, and hurt you. Bumpity Bump.
Heyo! Awesome. Considering new players get plopped into Launchpad rather than the more populous Lobby, this might also help them find other people more quickly and consistently.
The 'Play Game' button isn't behind the chat anymore. The Lobbies button is now Global, meaning we can talk with everyone even in a game. That's all I see so far.
I made a thread about it, but it could go here too. We need a way to search for runes with a specific ability in rune manager. They already have database scripts to search for class, and race, as well as a script that can display and sort the results. It would seem real easy to add ability to the options.
