How many truely awful runes are there in UD?

Helm of Chaos can't be in this list, for sentimental reasons.

Specifically Helm plus Imp rush circa 2008.

 

Night blade has stitched potential. Evil aura allows you to damage friendly units. If you equip a stitched that has the deconstruct ability Evil Arua will allow you to kill friendly units thus deconstructing them into stitched remains. Surround this night blade, deconstruct champ with low hp units and you could generate a lot of stitch remains for an arise. Far for a meta combo but it can work once in life time. :]

 

helm of chaos + needleclaw is hilarious just before dying use shatter to stop yourself from dying then use blood exchange with imp to heal

 

So since it can combo with deconstruct it's not a terrible rune? You could run tinder box and triple the damage of the aura, or run tome of faded souls on an aura champ. Both are more efficient.

 

Traitorous Helm could also be better, it is nearly useless in today's game. Shrines simply have too many HP for it to be useful.

 

Again, sure it's not gonna see much play -- but it does have potential in a crazy shrine kill deck.

I have one of those from 2009.

They don't work anymore. I really enjoyed my shrine kill BGs before the avatar nonsense.

 

Gahlroon and Pit Dragon. Goblin Brute could manhandle these two anyday of the week.
