There are some deck themes out there that seem like they would be fun, but aren't at all viable. From my experience these are some of them. Do you agree? What are some others that aren't viable? Myx Devotee of De'lim/Fuel Crystal/Endless Devotion Some, of course don't even have real themes, like firk and salaman, so I don't even count them.
define theme. for instance, how many Myxes you need to run in order to keep your theme purist's satisfaction?
Poison Psychological warfare Creeps Honestly aside from a few really strong themes like semis or ice amp, most of these theme type bgs are always < goodstuff mashups.
well, themes will always lose to pure meta decks. but some themes are viable, at least in rare/exo league. I think creep is actually pretty decent. Myx is just awful. Poison/Knockback is not a terrible theme. I didnt realize psych warfare was a theme.
I tried it once. It wasn't good. Myx is better as a module than a theme I think. I have a SP/SL sand BG that can win a few.
Not "Super" Viable, but not terrible either. They lack real speed and initiation, and crutch on to matriarch really.
They'd have to nerf rally the herd to make them viable. I was running a centaur deck with 2x rally the herd with very limited success and then they reworked Bliss and I just threw the deck away.
Most of the themes that got a little attention from the devs over the last years are easily playable at the lower end of the top 100, sometimes higher. This also includes Myx. The only uncompetitve themes are those that consist of mostly outdated champions that never got buffed, like Salamans and Centaurs. I bet that after the revamp the situation may change, especially if they eventually get a well deserved racial.
I find that my Myx builds tend to crutch on Broodlord rather than the Matriarch. Tanky as all hell, I've never seen him one turned. If they manage to knock him to almost dead, drone signal and consume the fake broodlord to full heal.
