Core set has earlier runes, extended set has more up to date runes from a specific faction onwards. My suggestion is to get extended sets for a bit.

Can anybody list down the name of the expansion inside core set and extended set? I can't find any info on which is the earlier set (expansion set 1-5) & the later set (expansion set 6-22). That would be most helpful.

core set packs = the packs till grimlics descent
extended packs = all after grimlics descent except the latest

you can see the release order in the dropdown menu in runemanager or forge

Go to Rune Checklist on the site, first 5 after all releases are core, rest extended set :)

    So core set pack contains:
    Savage Tundra
    Shattered Peaks
    Drums of war
    Skeezick rebellion
    Grimlics descent

    Is this correct?

Yup, that's correct, forgot that pox nora release is not counted as expansion, just add it to core list too

"Core Set" and "Extended Set" should be options for the Release drop down in all the various tools.
