Sorry about the restart. We'll be moving the game server to a dedicated machine soon. This should help with some of the final stability issues we've been seeing.
All whent to hell and worse... So much laaag and crashes that its unplayable.... its weared they did not count on 300 people loging in... well its 300+ its not a good publicity stunt for DOG , if any new players login now then we lost them for ever..
Oh servers aren't on a dedicated machine...so every time Gedden watches Netflix at work it causes lag. It all makes sense now.
Not on a dedicated server? Wow, there are cost effective dedicated servers, like what Softlayer offers: $150 a month. Great data centers, uplink providers, etc. There are bargain servers from less reputable companies too, but wow, this needs to be on a dedicated server.
While your suggestions are appreciated, we're quite aware of our options. We're more than prepared to distribute the load across as many machines as necessary. It's just that our previous load testing/performance profile failed to reveal some of the issues we're seeing now.
Server is crashing under the load? Too many players at once? Like three digits - um, per lobby?! (imagine these as newspaper titles, flying from all directions, on top of each other) And basically only through word of mouth?!? Great news!!!
This is still once again a "beta" isn't it? I'm sure everything will work fine as soon as they figure out all the horrible SoE code.
The vast majority of people I've seen are level 99. I think new fellows will only start flocking in with advertisement, but, for the love of all things holy, don't start advertising now.
