MAC 10.8.5 error 'main quit unexpectedly'

Fentum I need me some PIE!

Just tried to get back into Pox after a few years out. Transferred account. Did the shimmy with the Pox Icon and the Applications folder.

All looked good. Got to the page where I can start the first tutorial. Clicked the 'basics' button, then everything shut down and I got the message above.

I am a complete Luddite (I think of Pox as a board game with living pieces!), so all help very welcome.

I tried skipping the tutorial to play the daily skirmish.

The map set up and initial runes revealed. Then it crashed to 'main quit unexpectedly' again.

    HELP!

Now tried to repair the programme via the gear symbol.

After completion, I now can't launch at all. When I click on the P logo, nothing happens.

OK so now I can run it but it crashes as per original issue.

Can a technical admin please help?

Since you contacted support we will continue this from there.

This is a fairly old thread, but it seems like there's another one with a similar issue as OP.

I haven't tried playing PoxNora in quite a while now. Now that I'm back and trying to play, there seems to be some issues with the application for me.
I figured this would be a good place to post since I'm also running 10.8.5.

I can launch, log in and make it to the main screen with all of the lobbies and such, but whenever I click anywhere on the application screen, the game crashes just a moment after.
I've tried repairing and reinstalling with AppCleaner with no difference to the problem.

Hoping a solution has been found. :]

Edit : I've also tried installing Java 7 with some JDK kit thing that you can download. No luck.

Another edit : For whatever reason, after installing OS Yosemite, PoxNora is playable now.

Hmm, odd. There must have been a file or setting that was conflicting causing the crash that updating fixed. Good to hear you are no longer having that problem. Unfortunately now that you aren't having the problem we can't see what may have been causing the problem.

    Anyway, have fun playing Pox.

I still can't play on my shiny new Mac and have to use my knackered old PC.

We sent a response to the customer service ticket you created regarding this issue in February, but you never responded back after we sent you some troubleshooting suggestions.

Yes, I just use my old PC now. I can play Pox so it's kinda ok but can't use my Mac. I don't know much about tech stuff☺️

Well it is good you have something you can play Pox Nora on right now, but ideally you should be able to play on PC or Mac. If you contact our customer support we will do what we can to get to the bottom of the cause of your Mac problem.
