Yep. The saddest part of the stuff he talks about tho is that they are long-standing problems for the most part
I have one slight issue with him, that is unlike the Daily Show or other Comedy programmes that parody the news in it's entirety, John Oliver seems to seek an actual form of content that examines international and national problems in detail but through a lens of comedy. This sometimes leads to, what I feel are, exaggerations or caricatures of a specific topic to achieve a comedic effect.
that's no worse than the exaggerations or caricatures used by traditional political commentators to spin an issue into whatever narrative theyre pushing. and I would classify this guy as political commentator rather than a news source (though news sources flat out lie so I don't know what standard there is anyway).
