I once began writing a book in which the main character was an AI but didnt know it in a Truman Show-esque twist but never went further than an outline because AIs are something that could feasibly be a reality in the semi-near future.

 

Plot twist: the main character created for your book is...............YOU! And the only reason you didn't actually write it is because in doing so you would literally be writing your own destiny, and that is something the universe cannot allow.
