Hi all. I'm new to KF. Never touched it. Trying to create a split kf bg focused somewhat around control/boost (for generic not themed) Hoping you all can look at the list I've compiled rate 1-5 1 never going to use 2 could be used if themed 3 situational 4 could go into just about any bg 5 auto include I've only compiled runes I thought I would/could use for my bg idea. KF's strength is largely in its excellent array of spells and equips and its synergy. There are a lot of runes that are meta worthy, but most of them are dependent on what you are running them with. You'd probably get the best advice for splits in the split forum, but if you're looking for advice here it would be helpful if we knew what you were looking to split it with (both faction and general idea.) As far as things I always include when running KF they are Carnivorous Vines, Reclaim, Thorn Collection, and Cleansing Emerald (these are just my preferences and aren't true for all KF players.) Almost everything else will change with what I'm running. I like Falconer for a cheap source of detection as well as being useful for being both melee and pseudo range and he also makes it into a lot of the bg's I build. Similarly, Elven Artisan is a good cheap source of shatter. Beyond that there are a lot of neat tricks with KF that can be found here, and a number of FF KF bg's (not current) that can be found here.
Thanks. Thinking about a KF/FW split, but just thinking atm. Not sure if I'll be using KF at all even. Just want to know what it has before I decide and spend my poxbox currency and shards on poxnora. Thanks a bunch.
The only reasons I could think to split with FW would be spirits and to try out the naria with other vamps. I'm not the most versed in FW though.
I pretty much main FW atm. Used to be well versed in UD tho (memory is slipping, old age...), but yea looking into KF for Naria. But I figured while I was here, I might look at everything KF has to offer incase I come up with any other possible ideas. Seeming's how I prolly won't ever look at KF again. How are Devotee BG's? And is Twisted Fireoak still viable/used?
Devotee BG's are very strong. Naria can work in them very easily. Twisted Fireoak has never been used really. When it first came out it was tried and tried and tried, but as far as I know, it was never made to work very well. And sadly, no Life Siphon in KF.
Thank you for your help Besides Falconer, what are other good forms of detect KF might have? Besides Artisan any other forms of decent shatter?
Hey So like you, I'm pretty adventurous. Most people will tell you splitting KF is laughable. I have been trying to do it for a while. The only thing that has seen any decent success is and KF/UD split with elves, since deep elves count as elves. In regards to KF/FW. - Grimlics Mirror + Lich King - Wizards BG (KF and FW have lots of wizards. Chained fae recently got an awesome buff) - Magic AMP - Timeslip + Shadow shank/Other champ Thats all i remember right now I hope I was somewhat helpful.
Spirit of the mountain+horn of order+ escape magic+ general healing is funny. Depending on where the projection lands, you can totally stop you opponent from capping fonts in early game. If you are splitting with kf SotM should be the default hero.
The fact that SotM is a ghost can be really hard for your opponent to deal with. Hard to kill, dose not lock up with champs, can wander around. Try him a few times & put horn of order in there (manifestion dishes out great damage, horn help to make sure the manidestion attacks twice) with escape magic. Your opponent will usually have to spend two or three turns focused on desperately try to kill him, then when escape magic pop's off they cry. When I split with kf I usually use tortun portal mage as well; good healing, more free tank meat.

As for medium it's good if you can protect it and get the most out of its ability Essence Capture. But the unit itself, is super vulnerable.
