Carry on with your rap battle. The persecution is entertaining I don't want it to stop. Just wanted to interject about this whole race idea.

we recently gave a computer, with no definition of "race" a bunch of DNA sequences from a bunch of people from all over the world. We told the computer to sort the DNA into groups based on genetic similarity. Since race is a social construct, of course the computer grouped people into categories that corresponded to common traits such as high-intelligence, or aggressive personality. Just kidding. The computer grouped the DNA into Whites, Blacks, Asians, Native Americans, and Pacific Islanders - groups that corresponded with the DNA source's self-identified racial groups and geographic heritage. Race is literally a thing.

Ok where are the sources for this? I have two very good sources for what I am proposing. I suggest you take a look if you are interested in what I said. Believing in race is a silly idea and there are few groups that benefit from pushing that agenda today. Here are two very good books on what I am talking about and the people that wrote them are highly qualified to talk about the idea that race does not exist and culture/ethnicity are what exist.

your style is trash, your lyrics unbearable
they put me in mind of a half translated parable
with none of the style, none of the grace,
    just the insufferable righteousness
    that spews from your face

ragic wants me to say i ****ed your mom
or your girl or your sister or your speed-dial dom
but imma say ragic can go straight to hell
cause gentle-pedes don't ever play kiss and tell

one place i can agree though,
is when it comes to yo flow?
    you really oughta let go
and just accept you're piss po'

there really is no saving it
    no rehabilitating it
i hope to hell you're baiting this
cause if you were straight serious

    then that's just Firking sad.

    gonna go sleep BREH

I've heard this opinion a lot over the years, but recently it seems to have solidified into a kind of orthodoxy. It's always seemed a bit strange to me.

You wouldn't apply that theory to anything other than humans. You wouldn't say that we shouldn't distinguish between a Bengal Tiger and a Siberian Tiger because they are both the same species?

Of course, humans have culture and language, which you could argue are far more important than a slight genetic divergence of a particular group.... but to say that it doesn't exist is like saying there are no such things as 'Siberian tigers' - that they are just tigers and it's stupid pointing out that they are different from other tigers..?

I guess that you could say that different groups aren't divergent enough to be worth distinguishing between them. To which i'd say fine, but this is why we have the lesser term 'race' rather than using 'subspecies', you could take that further and say that even this term is too strong in implying a difference ( for reference, this is the the biological use of 'race').

To which I'd also say fine, but given that race isn't a term with absolute parameters, what you're saying is an opinion on the use of language, not a statement of fact, and so shouldn't be presented as an absolute: You believe that the use of racial names insinuates more of a difference between people than actually exists.

I guess i just feel like human diversity is a good thing, even if it's just aesthetic, and we shouldn't feel the need to deny it's existence because some twats use it as an excuse for being awful.

I do not do rythm and poetry and I have said before that the best way to win a fight is poison combined with the other person not knowing the fight has started.

second best way is hiding a knife up your sleeve and putting it in someone at an angle nicking one of the renal arteries.

The Rosenberg Genetic Clustering study proved that race exists. You can get as granular as you want and ethnicities emerge, but if you ask a computer to sort 1,000 random humans into groups based on genetic variations, the traditional "big 5" races emerge. Below is a graphic showing a computer given constraints for how many groups to sort DNA into:

Human population structure can be inferred from multilocus DNA sequence data (Rosenberg et al. 2002, 2005). Individuals from 52 populations were examined at 993 DNA markers. This data was used to partition individuals into K = 2, 3, 4, 5, or 6 gene clusters. In this figure, the average fractional membership of individuals from each population is represented by horizontal bars partitioned into K colored segments.
Inferred Population Structure Based on 1,048 Individuals and 993 Markers, Assuming Correlations among Allele Frequencies across Clusters. Each individual is represented by a thin line partitioned into K colored segments that represent the individual's estimated membership fractions in K clusters. Each plot, produced with DISTRUCT, is based on the highest-likelihood run of ten runs: the two runs that were used in further analysis, and the eight runs described under “Cluster Analysis using STRUCTURE.” As in [3], four of ten runs with K = 3 separated a cluster corresponding to East Asia instead of one corresponding to Europe, the Middle East, and Central/South Asia. Two of ten runs with K = 5 separated Surui instead of Oceania. The highest-likelihood run of the ten runs with K = 6, shown in the figure, had a different pattern from the other nine runs (not shown). These other runs, instead of subdividing native Americans into two clusters, subdivided a cluster roughly similar to the Kalash cluster seen in [3], except with a less pronounced separation of the Kalash population. The clusteredness scores for the plots shown with K = 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6 are 0.50, 0.76, 0.84, 0.86, and 0.87, respectively.

I agree that the use of racial/ethnic names has been inconsistent, muddled, and often very destructive, and I can certainly understand the desire to do away with it all together.

But that is a different argument to 'race doesn't exist'.

Perhaps, but since i'm also nice I'll clarify, as I think we are talking cross purposes:

As I understand it, what you are saying is that 'white', 'black', and 'east asian' or whatever the shorthand where you are is, is not a meaningful descriptor given the variation of genetically distinct groups that these terms encompass.

In at least some cases I agree, describing someone as 'arabic' makes next to no sense genetically, since it is more a muddled cultural identifier about religion, language, geography and history. The use of 'white' to mean Europeans disregards the more meaningful (genetically speaking) group which includes indians, central asians and north africans as well - in this case, sure, the idea of the 'white race' is questionable. The nature of our path out of Africa also means that there is a founder effect outside of africa and greater diversity within, so the 'black' race is not very meaningful.

I accept all this but what I'm arguing is that these kind of things do not alter the fact that genetically distinct groups exist. That the path of humanity spreading around the world, means that there is a family tree of peoples.

I can accept that the usual terms are misapplied while still accepting the concept is meaningful.

Now this is a story all about how
The establishment got flipped-turned upside down
This will just take a minute
If you have time to wait
Here's how Trump became prez of the United States

In New York City he was born and raised
Building casinos is how he spent most of his days
Wheelin' and dealin', some called it stealin'
Makin' the bank without much tax cheatin'
When an overrated Dem, a commie in disguise
Made the economy drop and the taxes rise
Opened up the border and let the terrorists in
And paved the way for Hillary Clintin

He rode down an escalator, model in tow
The media thought he's doin' it all for show
He said, "the countries a mess and its not much fun"
"So you know what? I've decided to run"

Delirious, mysterious, he cant be serious!
Fake news tryin' to instill the fear in us.
Is this the best the GOP can do?
The Monoply guy with a fake hair do?

But wait what's that he has to say?
Gonna build a wall and make Mexico pay?
Gonna drain the swamp and bring back our jobs?
Don't forget the rich pined Lou Dobbs

Well the primary season came and went
Bush and Cruz got slammed and Rubio got bent
Trump came out on top though the polls were lyin'
The common man was glad, the elite were cryin'

Fast forward past the general election
with the rigged debates and the Russian connection
turns out Clinton ain't all that adorable
leaning on rappers and calling us deplorable?

So now he's POTUS, doin' what he told us
kickin' out illegals, pickin' supreme court justice
what else is to come, we have to wait and see
but at least he pulled us out of TPP

Why would you limit us to those choices, that makes no sense. You included zero European ethnicities as well, which I presume was deliberate.
