If you had to name just a few, which would you consider to be the most iconic champions in the game for you? Mine would be: - Lich King - Ravager - Ranger Additionally - do you think these kind of champions should always be decent, or is it nice to let them 'retire' them to a less powerful state? I imagine a lot of old players will have similar runes, but would be great to hear from those who started later on too. Obviously inspired by Jib's impassioned ravager stories in my rune thread.
Gahlroon is up there for me as well. Lich king definitely takes the top spot though. He used to be like a hundred pounds in the single rune store.
Serkan Euan Menalaus and grimlic are probably the most iconic champions in the game for me. Menalaus has even gone so far as to be in the occasional facebook meme
Goblin Brute. Ambling Frond. Anyways the soft spot runes from FS I would like to always be 'decent': Moog Pinger Slider Slipworm
For me its, Augur, Obsidian Venger and Imperator. Mainly because Augur and Imperator have been ran in every meta bg since their release, regardless of nerfs and Venger due to the artwork and me being an FW rune. (Try to run him now a days, but he is literally so bad it's hard too)
Deep Elf Fire Dancer was the first champion I saw when I started I think. And if I remember correctly it has also been in a couple of trailers or ads. It screams Poxnora for me
A modern classic for me is the Kanen Slipped. Oldies... Everyone used to audibly gasp once the Dwarven King (DK) came out. I remember before any of the big expansions, if you have either the DK or the LK, you were balling. Everyone was trying to trade up to those tier 1 exos. Honourable mentions: Gahlroon Executioner Draksar Archer (SL ranged powerhouse for a long time) Ranger These were the kind of guys you would "super-champ" back in the old system where stats were customizable.
I specifically have fond memories of ghern tyrant as the big centerpiece of any moga deck. And also hashinshin using it as his avatar and annoying the forums endlessly. Draksar lord obviously comes to mind. For ironfist its not even a champion, its righteous deflection.
Dwarven King hands down. After that Lich King,Draksar Lord,Elder Garu and Finlord were the OG's of Pox
Deep Elf Assaassin/Sheoul Demon/Gahlroon Dwarven King/Interrogator and later Talgar started as an UD player, no idea why i left the stinkin burning demons for smelly dorfs still got a few namned old ones, so much more fun with names on them then just Pox Harbringer, K'lzik etc
