We are currently approximately six hours and thirty minutes into the downtime. Sorry for those that had those sub 8 hour hopes!. Updated up to this point!
OP. Another hour has passed. I should make a count up timer since 8:30 PST. Hrm… Edit - Test! Does anyone know the exact time that the downtime started?
8:30 AM PST, give or take a few seconds, the publicly published estimation is that it will be up by that time tomorrow (Friday here in PST land). However, aside from estimations being possibly wrong (complications or miscommunications, someone forgetting to poke holes in the hamster's crate when shipping it to DOG's offices, etc.), remember that increased spike traffic may cause other problems. While DOG clearly already has experience setting up F2P games, there will be a lot of people (relatively speaking) trying to log in at once, as well as activate their account keys etc. These potential issues could easily extend the "effective" downtime for quite a bit beyond the actual server downtime for some people. In other words, we may have to go by official announcements as far as when, precisely, server downtime actually ends. There may also be some minor discrepancies between game server downtime and website downtime. I wouldn't worry too much though. Even if we don't have immediate results, I'm sure we can figure out who gets the 1529 points. Although that arbitrary-seeming number... could it be a clue? Do they plan to finish at 3:29 PM on Friday? Or perhaps January 5th, 2029? We'll have to wait and see, but can those vying for those delicious forum points really afford to ignore this vital piece of information that slipped from the Owl's talons?
