Has anyone noticed that almost every sprite previewed has gotten an update/polish? I'm really looking forward to seeing the updated UI, maps, everything. Personally I'm very happy that when DOG said "revamp" they actually meant it instead of port/bug fix/small polish/new stuff, we're getting the grand treatment and I love it.
True enough, lol, but I consider the SOE era more like 1.5 really. @Goyo but I like the 2.5D sprites with hard outlines and nice shade work.
Not sure if that's a good or a bad reaction. But yea, I'd be happy to see old champions with new sprites, even if they remain crappy.
Honestly, aside from some sprites being poilished like they were in the previews, I doubt that the game will change much if at all cosmetically. The revamp is obvioiously focusing on balance. That being said, I would like to see some of the maps rearranged or something, but I doubt that they will.
Honestly I would like to see a queue for matches instead of picking and choosing who you face, with ELO figured in of course. =)
Their financial return is building a player base. New players care about things like "looks" and interface - it is what brings them in and keeps them here. Not all improvements need to be game play related to be worthwhile.
My point is, they're already betting all they have on the revamp. I want to believe DOG is swimming on pools of money right now, but as I see it, the revamp is almost a desperate measure to keep this game alive. I'm not contesting the improvement by itself. I've seen a TCG with animated runes, and it's really cool. But it's no simple feat doing it in thousands of existing runes. So, for more stuff, the revamp/next expansion will have to bring money first(IMHO, someone will probably prove me wrong).
