    Hi Entrepidus,

    I made some tweaks to the mistress, and I agree with you about lowering the damage.

    Arbiter, I was also thinking that the upgrade options are a little too minimal and straightforward (I don't think you'd ever take fury over bloodlust). Not really convinced on your build though, since I feel we need that high damage potential as a way of killing some of the ultra tanky runes that are popular right now. I'll have a think about it.

    For Bok Mistress, I won't support any changes you make to her until she doesn't have an upgrade path filled with ability ranks. She looks a lil' better, but it's an automatic "do not want!" until her first upgrade path is fixed.

    CURRENT

    Base = [12 DMG | 1 DEF | 45 HP]

    Modifed = 16 DMG | 1 DEF
    • +1x DMG from Fury (8 procs to equalize)
    • 24 from Bloodlust
    SUGGESTED CHANGES

    Base = [8 DMG | 2 DEF | 48 HP]

    Reflexes 3 = 12 DMG (12 Fury procs to equalize) | 2 DEF (-50% Melee)

    Melee Specialist 2 = 12/16 DMG (8 Fury procs to equalize) | 2/4 DEF

    Bloodlust = 12/18 DMG (4 Fury procs to equalize) | 2 DEF

    She'll have less damage up front but will likely to survive longer for more total damage. Additionally, the presence of Fury on base allows for a much greater damage potential. Impaling Strike can proc Fury multiple times meaning 1-2 activations could provide the 4 procs required for her to equalize the current damage total of Bloodlust. Melee Specialist 2 and Reflexes 3 would require many more procs, but you're gaining a significant boost to survivability that shouldn't be overlooked.

    The way I see it, more survivability allows her to go toe-to-toe with supremely tank champions. Depending on what these changes put her cost at, I don't see why we couldn't raise her base damage, but my goal was to avoid making her too expensive to be worth running. Right now, her damage can easily be achieved with much cheaper champions.

    I did need someone better than scorched dwarf, but servile brute? He doesn't seem slow enough to me. I choose dorf because of his lumbering.

    edit: He does fit better though.

    So I've been thinking about the two crutch runes that were introduced during the drums of war expansion -- demonshield and deepelf priestess.

    For those that don't know, these two were intended to allow a underpowered melee based faction compete in a range dominated game. This was several years ago and they still to some extent fill that same role - demonshield has never been nerfed.

    On one hand I feel like they are holding back other anti-range and mobility options - while some other anti range is sometimes run, it is usually as a supplement to demonshield rather than as a alternative. Same with mobility options and priestess.

    On the other hand, UD might still need that crutch. ST, IS and KF are all very strong right now, and I don't think we should end up too gimped in these matchups. Might be better to wait for a more favourable meta game?

    Just want to get some others thoughts on this.

    We have a strong alternative to DEP in Summoner and while we are crutching on support runes because we are still melee / low range centric we are no longer reliing on the DEP, that being said I dont think she is nerf worthy and buffing her by replacing becon with relocate ally doesnt seem like a good idea either.
    DShield is pretty much on the same boat. I have actually dropped them in favor of mindlicer obelisk and in some bgs command dodge or orb of protection. Dshield is strong, but not irreplacable.
    That being said most if not all factions have spot counter to DS which makes it less reliable than te other options. I'm not sure if nerf here would be justified or not as I dont see any of the runes as an autoinclude or overpowered.
    On the other hand if you want to nerf those to get more design space I'd say go for it.

    I actually stopped using Demon Shield a long time ago, but I wouldn't want it changed. It's a big part of the faction, not something I would tread on at all --- rather if you want to limit it in order to provide a buffer elsewhere better to redefine what it means to be a Demon, and maybe establish a Demonkin superclass.

    Priestess I could see made exclusively for demon elves.

    I'm less interested in anti-range as I am in methods of proactively dealing with range, I deeply miss Relocate: Foe. It was my premier method to shut down ranged threats, Spellkaiser's in a deplorable state. In general, I'd favor more relocation, stealth, range-punishing tactics over just anti-range (Outside of dedicated anti-range units like prevamp Imp Strangler - whom I also dearly miss).

    Addressing the overly prolific Race: Demon seems like the best approach for indirectly "nerfing" said runes. If fewer UD champs were Demons, we'd have more room to design anti-range for non-Demon setups.

    ^+1 to pretty much all the comments above

    Another idea,

    Night blade
    35 nora
    This champion gains loss of life instead of its regular attack, Evil Aura, and strike

    Aka a more versatile defense counter

    2ed idea

    Scepter of onus (i've never seen this played)
    40 nora
    Equipped demon gains relocate foe
    and one of these, ( set ablaze, relocate ally, flamethrower, teleport, 2 ranks of Fire bomb) not at random just couldn't decide what would fit.
    (this is probably op but fun =b)

    If you have Attack: LoL then strike doesn't do anything. LoL already ignores defense.

    ah didn't realize i knew it bypassed ability's like tough colossal etc

    Not true. It is an attack, so it is still affected by defense.

    Really? That doesn't line up with my experience with Soulreave. When Attack: LoL has been used on my old treefolk defense superchamp BG they would take damage even with 20+ DEF.

    I just tested Corrupted Cultist AND Soulreave separately, and the loss of life is being reduced by defense.
    How long ago did you run that BG?

    Just tested to be sure, and yeah I'm not crazy. Def still applies.

    Anyway how do you all feel about night blade gaining lol dmg?

  17. IMAGIRL

    LoL shouldn't apply. It is not counted as damage. So defense shouldn't even register it.

    Its wai when you read defense (hover over the stat.)

  19. IMAGIRL

    It's not wai, when LoL A was made as a way to bypass immunities and defense. It even states that it is NOT considered dmg.

    Defense reads : When this champion takes dmg or loses HP from an attack, the amount is modified by DEF.
