As the old forums are being taken down, I thought I'd repost some of my old rune ideas for my beloved K'thir Forest. Some of them are a little out of date but I'll try to fine tune them soon. Enjoy!

  4. Xirone

Xirone I need me some PIE!

This champion is meant to be an interesting support unit for K'thir Forest. Instead of having a basic attack, it can protect its allies through a number of means including its signature abiltiy Healing Canter. This champion is also the first unit in the game to be able to boost any champion from its faction (instead of a race or class based Boost).

This champion is an tactical melee attacker with support capabilities. He is rather slow but can save more AP due to High Endurance and Prophetic Balance. If you need to bypass a certain resistance, or need a friendly ranged champion to temporarily gain a melee attack, his elemental swords can be quite useful.

This rune allows an equipped champion to summon an owl, with Initiative, onto the map. The owl isn't too powerful but does have it uses. First, it can engage an opponent to automatically trigger Flanking. Second, it can move and use Swap to help the equipped champion move around. Third, Wisdom reduces the CD on spells (and reveals one when the champion is summoned). Fading Light is there to provide an incentive to use the summon to grab nora globes, when applicable. In short, I wanted the Spirit Owl to have a utility rather than a damaging element (kind of like a Familiar).

    Double Magic (Spell)
Effect: The next spell cast this turn, with a nora cost of 40 or less, has its cooldown reduced to 0 at the start of your next turn. If that spell is cast on your next turn, its nora cost becomes 0. This rune is Unique (only one copy of this rune may be played in a Battle Group).
Artwork: An Elven Illusionist is deep in spell-casting pose. Several of his illusions are fervently mimicking his moves.
Flavor-Text: "Experimentation is key in creating new magic. With just the right blend of extant magic, you can get incredible results." -Borai, Elven Illusionist
    Cost: 20

This spell is meant to be a powerful aid to spell-casting in KF. The most expensive spells are not affected (like Thorn Collection, Vortex, and Grimilic's Mirror) but all other spells, 40 nora or lower, are affected. This spell does have a few downsides (like your opponent will know which spell you plan on recasting and you have to spend 20 nora right away for a delayed effect) but this is still a very powerful spell.

    Some examples...
-You could cast Double Magic and then cast Treefolk's Blessing on a friendly unit (spending 50 nora to do so). On your next turn, you get a "free" Treefolk's Blessing to use on another friendly unit.
-You could run a Wizard into a group of units, use Double Magic and then Stellar Horizon (spending 60 nora). On your next turn, you could use Stellar Horizon again for free.
-You could cast Double Magic and then use Fairy Dust to lock down a unit (for 55 nora) and then know that a second opposing unit could also be affected by the same condition next round.

    Nora Cost: ???

This champ has two upgrade paths. The first makes him a fine summoner (and helps others to summon faster) the other makes him a fine fighter (he can use Recharge often to reset Deflect, Envenom, and Serpent Form).

This lady is meant to be a non-traditional champion that charms and abuses those who love her most. This rune has a non-damaging "bomb" that dishes out some status effects (i.e. Charmed and Wearied) and then capitalizes on those status effects with a new ability Rejection. This power comes at the cost of not having a basic attack (though Psychic Attack gives one on occasion).

A simple champion that is meant to be the primary nora globe grabber. He has some downsides, like Lumbering, but can become strong if he is able to benefit from Brain Eater.

The Fae don't really have many melee champions and this would be an interesting, and tricky, addition. The champion is able to siphon off the life energies of its victims, in an appropriate fashion, which makes the soldier stronger and stronger. Siphon Nexus can be upgraded to help spread the HP growth around (perhaps that ability should only give HP to friendly Fae?).

    Fairy Circle (Relic)
Artwork: A simple ring of small glowing pebbles sits in a forest's clearing. A Fairy Trickster is flying by and glows with the same colors of the Fairy Circle.
Flavor Text: Fairy magic can be a very different thing from the magics we are used to; luckily for us, few have developed the proper defenses to it.
Effect: This unit has Fairy Magic (while this unit is in play, the first time each opposing unit takes Magical damage each turn that champion is randomly Wearied, Crippled, or Debilitated) and Piercing Magic (for the next 2 turns, all opposing champions lose their Resistance: Magical and Immunity: Magical abilities. CD: 3).

    Hit Points: 14

Xirone I need me some PIE!

Currently, Fairy BGs can run into a lot of trouble when they run into opposing soldier with Resistance: Magical and Immunity: Magical. This relic is meant to help combat this while also dishing out some status effects.

In addition, here are some notes on the rune...
-The Fairy Circle is meant to be one of those relics that are safely stashed behind a shrine. KF doesn't have many of those types of relics that see play so I figured this one would be okay.
-Fairy Magic can stack but can't be applied several times a turn. If you cause Magical damage to the same champion three times, over the course of 6 turns, then it will be Wearied, Crippled, and Debilitated (though the order is random). If you cause Magical damge 3 times to the same champion in the same turn, it will only recieve one of the three debuffs.
-Piercing Magic does not affect Magic Eater champions.
