A Compilation of My K'thir Forest Runes Ideas

Rite of Spring (Spell)
Effect: All friendly champions have their current ability cooldowns reduced by 1. If that ability is a Summon ability, the ability's cooldown is completely reset.
Artwork: A gentle rain soothes and comforts a litter of newborn wolves.
Flavor-Text: After the chill of winter leaves, Nature is always happy to reset what was once lost.
Nora Cost: 40

 

This spell is meant to help the few summoners in KF do their thing more efficiently (for a cost). This spell can also help, to a lesser degree, reduce cooldowns for abilities across the board. Perhaps the cost should be 35-40?

 

Depart (Spell)
Effect: For the next 6 turns target champion gains Bestow, Guiding Spirit, and Grace of the Dead 2.
Artwork: A Garu Cub is on the ground, gravely wounded. An Elven priestess is trying to comfort the critter as best as possible.
Flavor Text: "It is time for you to rest, dear friend, and for K'thir to reflect." -Anaa the Priestess to a dying Garu Cub
Nora Cost: 30

 

This is a simple spell that is most powerful when used in a racially themed BG (but it works equally well in any racially themed BG). It only lasts 6 turns but forces the opponent to make a dire choice. Bestow has the potential to give some very good abilities to a nearby friendly champion. Guiding Spirit has the potential to help offset the cost of the spell. Grace of the Dead 2 has the potential to heal your champions considerably (but at the discretion of the opponent).

 

Shooting Star (Equip)
Effect: Equipped Fairy champion is Cleansed and gains Purified and Shooting Star*.
Artwork: A brilliant and dazzling golden wand with a star on its tip.
Flavor-Text: "If one is lucky enough to glimpse a shooting star, what does it mean to own one?" -An Elven youth while looking up
Nora Cost: 35

*Shooting Star: Target opposing champion within 2 spaces takes 12 Magical damage (this damage ignores Defense). Champions successfully damaged by this attack are Regulated 3. This effect can not be Cleansed. CD: 1, AP: +1

 

The KF spell Regulate gives all soldiers, friendly and opposing, the same weak stats. This equip gives the same debuff but in a different fashion.

Sokolov made my Ivory Tower and Starlight Sylph (I called it Bubble Fairy) into actual runes and had a few my ideas in the "contemplation" phase of development (Serpentine Druid and Evergreen Cathedral). Hopefully we'll see some good player-inspired runes enter the game (even if they aren't my ideas).

 

Neats ideas. I like a few of them, but kinda seems like some might be a bit strong, though u didn't list nora costs so that can usually even things out.....usually.

 

I remember having a spread out list of ideas, though some of them were just modified versions of your own Xirone (i don't have a terribly great amount of imagination).

I'll have to find my pages.

 

But, is it a Beast or a Demi-God?

 

Yeah, Unicorns don't have to be "sissies." Anything with a large horn can be pretty epic. Then again, there is nothing wrong with a sensitive unicorn.

 

Forest Prince
Race: Elf, Class: Bard, Shaman, Size: Small, Rarity: Exotic or Legendary
Artwork: A regal elven prince stands before a woodland audience. The denizens of the forest are clearly in awe of their friend and protector.
Flavor Text: The princes of K'thir, chosen not bred, go to unusual lengths to truly understand the needs of the forest and its many denizens...
Nora Cost: ???

Champion Stats:
DMG: 10, SPD: 6, RNG: 3-5, DEF: 0, HP: 44

Champion Abilities:
Attack: Sonic- This unit makes a Sonic attack at its Range. This is a basic attack.
Hearten- While this unit is in play, other real (non-summoned, non-illusion) friendly champions with 1 or less base DEF get +1 DEF. This ability does not stack.
Regal Presence- Friendly champions within 3 spaces that share a race with this champion have Loyalty, Fearless and Iron Will.
Majestic 2- Opposing champions within 2 spaces of this unit are Awestruck (This unit has its DMG reduced by 50% and -1 SPD).
Mythical- When another copy of this unit is in play that you own, both it and this copy are destroyed.

Champion Upgrades:
Garu Form- This champion loses its basic attack and gains Race: Garu, Original Form, Attack: Physical, Berserk Attack 2, Shred Defense, +3 DMG, +8 HP, and has its range set to 1. CD: 3, AP: 2
Fairy Form- This champion loses its basic attack and gains Race: Fairy, Original Form, Attack: Magical, Dodge: 1, Flight, Cripple, Weary, +1 SPD, -2 DMG, and has its range set to 5-7. CD: 3, AP: 2
Treefolk Form- This champion loses its basic attack and gains Race: Plant, Treefolk, Original Form, Attack: Physical, Clamp, Plant Regeneration 3, Sword Breaker, Tough 2, +2 DEF, +18 HP, and has its range set to 1. CD: 3, AP: 2
Vashal Form- This champion loses its basic attack and gains Race: Beast, Vashal, Original Form, Attack: Poison, Attack: Physical, Damage Shield: Poison 3, Domain: Vegetation, Spike Nova, Stealth, and has its range set to 5-6. CD: 3, AP: 2

 

This champ is meant to work best in theme decks but the interesting thing is that he can be upgraded to fit into four different themes (only 2 at a time, of course). He has simple starting abilities and then gains some as he changes race. Each of the different forms are meant to fill a different role (i.e. Garu is a melee beater, Fairy is a weak champ with excellent range, Treefolk is a tank champ, and Vashal is a utility champ). Of course, the abilities and stats gained by the various forms could easily be changed to be more/less powerful and, as such, are more of a rough idea to get the point across. In short, Forest Prince is an elite level Elven Druid.

 

I like this one, especially how it endorses any racial theme (not just a specific one).

 

Yeah, it could work equally well for Garu, Fairies, Elves, Centaur, Treefolk, and just about any race based theme while being less useful in a "goodstuff" deck.

Also, the artwork and flavor-text are depressing.

 

Wasn't Bestow a huge problem though? Wasn't Memento changed for just that reason?

 

I really like your ideas and all of them are amazing.

 

That unicorn and the epochal swordmage would be OP for anything less than 80 nora. That said I love the ideas in this thread.
