I have tried full treefolk BGs and they do ok. But not super great. Most treefolk BGs include several Naria champions because they have good kits etc.

The problem is they got too many nerfs and not enough buffs, Naria are strange they are trying to be treefolk, trying to be vampires, trying to be dryads, trying to be d'elim, problem is they don't really have any synergy with anything other than more naria.

Trees used to be super tanks, that's easy to play around now, they used to hit hard, they mostly all have under 10 damage. Greenhouse used to be useful, it was nerfed. Summons used to be a thing, they are now really really bad.

Devs tried to go too many directions with trees and it's resulted in this crazy mess we have now. When I'm building a tree folk bg do I use trees, naria, d'elim ?

They are all decent together but separate they are either too slow or really not expanded on enough.

Trees were hit hard with the Greenhouse nerf. It was boosting summons atk damage and people were saying they were too efficient.

Gnarlwood Tanglefoot is still in a horrible state.

I don't like that Oakthumpers were given Weighty because he is now a bad first turn draw. They were the main beaters/tanks of the theme but now their movement is restricted the enemy can also play around it. (People will always say run runes to remove lumbering but running extra runes to accommodate one rune sucks with limited space)

What are your thoughts on naria ? I agree with the thumper, the whole tree folk theme as a whole is very very slow now and on certain maps a nightmare.

I'd like to see thumper lose weighty, lose hunter:flying, lose plant regeneration 3 and get something the theme doesn't have and make it flavorful, please no more defender =(. Also k'thun needs a huge rework, that thing is the biggest heap of garbage in the game. K'thun remove wandering, give him vulnerability fire and slothful or weighty.

Verdant force change- Friendly champions (including self) gain Brushwalker and Camouflage for 3 turns, and spaces within 3 tiles of all friendly champions (including self) become Jungle for 4 turns. If you have 5 or more treefolk out your champions gain plant regen 3 or domain vegetation. Either or for those last two, the current verdant force is terrible and the champ has barely seen any play since release.

I like the Naria. No issues there. They play their roles in treefolk/Delim/Vamps very well.

There are 6 treefolk champion runes right off the top of my head that have the ability Defender. Why? Why so much of the same ability? It doesn't stack so why?
Out of all of the abilities that could be added to them.

    Dragonbark dude
    Gnarlwood Patriarch
    Gnarlwood Willowind
    Oaken Defender
    Heart of the Forest
    Gnarlwood Boardergaurd

All have Defender abilities on upgrades.

It's been part of the boost consolidation. It would be nice to see them get some different options, but at least they're upgrades rather than base so you can choose to have them or not.

I think I'm okay with so many defender options, because it means you'll never lose the upgrade even if the champ carrying it drops down in efficiency beyond relevance other than the defender provider. It also lets you cutomise the trees a bit more.

Couldn't agree more man, it limits tress potential so much when I see so many champs with defender. I could see maybe one or two but 6 is crazy, and their are still so many things trees need. After using naria more lately, they are pretty cool and seem to fit fine in most tree folk and d'elim bgs. I think my only problem with naria is bleed options on their upgrade lines instead of something that fits within d'elim and tree folk.

Just a heads-up for anyone new reading this thread: a lot of data here is outdated and as such try to make sure you don't put yourself into a corner via some of the old info contained here.
