I agree. These guys invented Poxnora. The game could have a lot of changes when it is re-released, so maybe its OP, maybe its not OP. Why not wait and see?

 

I am curious by what "Starting Ability" means on Renovate, does that mean for example a Renovator will get +30% Dmg vs another Renovator? (Attack: Gun, Flight, Renovate).

Or we could discuss the rune in a discussion thread and ask for context and clarification?

Or is this the official "waiting" thread, where we all just wait to see if the rune does anything magical by itself without any input?

I mean, I bet they gave us a full stat and ability preview of a rune with no context just so you could post that comment.

I imagine the lack of context you assume is there is so we can say "wow, that's a rune. Sure does something we can't comprehend. This thread for discussing it sure is pointless"

I hope this post gets the point across that the discussion of this rune is an implied part of the discussion thread. If you want all comments to be positive or assume there's no context then you may as well not bother discussing it at all.

People who are unhappy with this rune or its assumed availability aren't being mean. They are just being honest and posting within the context provided by DoG. They are free to reply with assurances to these issues and ease our concerns.

 

I like the art and sprite a lot. Would be fun for them to have an ability specific for the faction they are played in, just like the doom bringers.

Otherwise great job! looking forward to owning one.

 

I like the arts comic relief and the sprite is cute, but I dislike (like the Pox Harbingers) runes that are designed to be entirely identical in all 8 factions.
It will look out of place in anything but a full Strigg BG and in KF and IS (or/IS) you are looking at 9 flying ap on the turn after deployment.
Giving the champion a speed upgrade is pretty silly since noone at all will choose to tkae anything over that, and the base speed of 7 is imo allready to much when you take KF/IS and Tailwind into account.
In my opinion it is a badly designed rune.

 

I do not think Owls have long trailing eyebrows. Nerf eyebrows before release.

Just trying to get the point across. Although I suppose I did leave myself open to ad hominem rather than a response to my actual point. And I'm not arguing with you, just the common comment of not giving feedback as if that's a good thing.

See? This seems to be worth discussing. I don't see why we should "wait and see" in a discussion thread. The entire point is constructive feedback and all these points are valid concerns to be addressed.

- It IS out of theme.
- It IS too mobile.

If it truly is meant to be a commemorative rune, why make it anything more than collectable? Why does it need to be powerful? For a start, a homogeneous rune across all factions that is powerful enough to warrant across the board use is terrible. Would you want the rune released like that because it might turn out ok if we just "wait and see"?

At the very least, confirm the context or assume the the current context. Don't assume an unknown context and justify things based on that.

 

Looks like old school upgrades, in other words: pewp (obv besides speed which shouldn't be there).

You can do better than this. Make it collectable/unplayable or do it better.

I like your suggestion, but without aerial supremacy (9 damage is fine, renovator will add a lot of damage and beasts are boostable), unique (not nice to restrict a ranged beast), Ally, and detection on upgrades could go to precision (it's as flavorful and detection is everywhere in beasts).
This will be a really used rune.

I don't dislike your idea, but I think that adding extra abilities to a champion that heralds increased rune simplicity kinda misses the point...

As for the speed issue - I say make them heroes, take 1 speed off from IS/KF/maybe ST and you tend to 2 problems in one ability - limited availability (as you can include only 1 in a BG, it's not perfect but better than having 4 vs. none) and degenerate split faction interactions, as they can only be played in FF.

And to clarify Gedden, will be receiving 1 from each faction or 1 for whatever our main faction is ? Judged by our amount of faction points.

 

You know, in the future, people will want to play with this rune because it's actually useful, as a lot of people want to play with doombringers and harbingers now and don't have access to them. Will this be addressed in some way?
