Account was hacked and over $2000 in runes taken.

I had 7 harbs. 2 of multiple 150ks. and Many LE's/Legs. I logged off my account 3 nights ago, to log on yesterday and see my entire account had been raided. all runes exo and higher are gone. Multiple bids accepted from an account named "Poxbros". I will add Screenshots to this post momentarily.

 

Pay close attention to the names of the first couple trades. also, the fact that I am recieving nothing in return for these runes...

Are you certain this is not a case of getting scammed? You spent the better part of the weekend spamming "selling account" in the ranked lobby.

 

PoxBros are an online runestore that many people use to obtain rune singles that they cannot get by using the actual game. If what you are saying is real and they actually obtained those runes from you unlawfully this is some very unpleasant news. It would certainly be good if the admins or relevant people look seriously into this matter.

 

Or you sold your runes for money and now try to get them back for extra benefits.
When you spam the lobby with Selling account and then say you where "hacked" it looks suspicious

 

I promise you its coincidental. If they can show a screenshot of them sending money to me or ANY sort of receipt then believe them, but they won't be able to.

 

Perhaps you have not noticed, but on all the screenshots where the trade actually shows the runesm he has covered up the name of the bidder,and the ones which say poxbros have bid on show no runes.

I think most of all know me and the store as honorable, which we are.

This story actually starts off quite some time ago, with the account "Whooty" contacting me.
Whooty is one of many alts of the player who's current main account is SooWuu (I didn't know that at the time).
Other alts are: D0OO0m, SuuWoo and Takeachanc (only found out about this later too).

He contacted us and told us he was interested in buying over the store, as he figured it was an interesting business.

This happened at the time SOE was letting everything slip and DOG was just taking over. Me and KVBraker23 talked it trough and decided to talk to him. With the received money we would rebuild a new store from scratch, fully automated, more appealing etc. etc.

So we started talking, here is the complete conversation, keep in mind we had already talked in game before

At the same time I was talking too KVBraker23, my store partner and told him to stay logged in at our account, while I was logged in at Whooty his account.
When he saw bids going out he instantly changed the password, but as you can see in the trades a substantial amount of runes was lost.
Possibly one of the biggest scams in Pox Nora history.

But I thought, well, no problem, he gave me his account, I can just transfer runes from there back to my account.
But when I tried to make a trade I got a message something like: "This account has been tradelocked, reason scamming."

I figured the only thing I could do was contact Gedden by mail, which I did.
He told me that he couldn't do anything about it as I had given him the password.
I didn't share this with anyone and it always stayed between me and KVB, as you simply do not want people to know this.
Eventually we got over the big loss by slowly building up the store again.

You can possibly imagine my surprise when a couple of days ago I see a trade under the name Woothy.
I decide to see if the login info provided for his account still works (which in theory was mine as he offered it as collateral).

He hadn't even bothered to change his login, after a couple moments of thinking I decided that those were actually my runes (and by that around 50% of what I lost) and did transfer them over to my account.

The day after I got a message from Woothy:

This pissed me off so much that I decided to check if his password still wasn't changed and it still wasn't, I started to transfer all rares and the couple of Exotics still left on the account. I decided to check to and from where he transferred his runes which is how I found out about his alt accounts. They all had the same password but no runes on them. The last account I got too was SooWuu, which had a different password.

I contacted Decondor (Poxbox) trough Skype and told him the complete story so that he could lock down all the credits he had in Poxbox. As a lot of his trades went to Poxbox to, I think for "rune-laundry". I'm not sure if Decondor eventually locked them down, but I truly hope he did.

Seemingly he didn't like me doing all that and decided to make a thread about it here accusing me to be a scammer, which I obviously am not.

I honestly hope you get banned on all your accounts, get IP banned, and get all the trades ever done by all your accounts reversed.

DO00OM and D0OO0M basically, one uses "zeros" in the middle and other uses O in the middle. that was the story how they scammed mmcnally, by using very similar to his new/alt nickname.

 

As someone who lost some harbs, angels and a grimthir to him I know the feeling and hope exactly what you suggested happens to him, I managed to get 2 of his alts banned but obviously the greens dont IP ban people -_-

 

It's people like him that ruin this game. They should be punished, hard.
On the other hand, I did learn my lesson after this and it's not going to happen again.

You should never give out your password I guess, good lesson to be learned here.

 

Holly smokes! This is so true, people like that ruin the game, and frankly they ruin everything they touch in the world around. First of all I am glad to know that PoxBros are clear in this dirty scenario, I love your store guys and your prices are probably the best around. To bad the stock is a bit limited but I hope that you improve it given some time. And as far as our scammer who plays the victim goes, I hope he gets kicked out of Pox community for good (honestly don't understand why the moderators can't take care of it if he is proven guilty, after all, it's in their interest as well).

I had a complete "WTF-moment" after I found out, haha!

And yeah it was a lesson learned the hard way.

Stock still needs a big update (after the rune forge our old script doesn't work anymore and web manager was busy).
It should be updated somewhere this week!

Looked at it from the POV from other players I can imagine this is quite the juicy story, haha!

The balls on this guy, trying to get the runes he scammed back. People be crazy.

 

IP bans don't do anything. Most people have an IP address assigned by DHCP.

Source: I worked at a financial institution and we tried IP banning people committing fraud.
