Can't start game/application closes as soon as I start to open it

Hi guys, so I woke up to see that the revamp just went live. After successfully updating via the launcher, I clicked on the "Play Now" button only to have the JavaAppLauncher program immediately close as it starts to load with no error messages or anything.

What could be the issue here and what I can do to fix it? I've already tried reinstalling the game and even reinstalling Java (in case I have an outdated version), but neither seems to make the game work.

And by the way, I am playing on a MacBook, OS X Version 10.9.3.

Hoping for some helpful replies. :)

Thanks for the confirmation guys. I was thinking at first this was some isolated case caused by my laptop. I've done the suggested steps in the troubleshooting thread but none seem to work. Kinda disappointing that there aren't replies from the devs, because even just an acknowledgement of this issue should do because at least I can hope that there's a fix for this. :/

KTCAOP I need me some PIE!

Looks like there is an issue with Win 7.

Though only one report of Mavericks.

Today has been a busy day, I'm sure they'll be poked about it soon though.

Have any of you tried uninstalling Pox Nora, deleting the Pox Nora folder in your install directory, and then reinstalled the game?

Yes, I did that twice. Also tried installing it to different partitions and installing/running it as an admin

EDIT: Managed to fix it! I deleted everything, downloaded it new, turned off Antivir, and did EVERY STEP (run: initial installer, updater, updater after Updating) as an admin.

That is odd, but it is good to know you were able to resolve this. We will have to take a look at this. Thanks for the error log.

Yes, I've uninstalled and reinstalled the game twice and I'm still crashing. I though the latest update might fix it, but alas, it continues to crash. Still, it's good to hear that it can be fixed somewhat. Unfortunately, I'm not very familiar with this MacBook so I don't know how I could replicate Bagellord's or the Silver One's fixes. Anyone who can help me out here? I.e., where exactly are all the game files stored? And since there isn't exactly a Start Menu in OS X, I can't do Silver One's fix.

Oh, and thank you Senshu. Please let us know if you can get to the bottom of this. :)

We will do what we can, but if it is a security option on your Mac that is causing the problem there isn't much we can do. You might want to check out Mac troubleshooting blogs to look for potential solutions also.

I am completely unfamiliar with Mac, but I just googled "JaveAppLauncher crashes on Mac" and the like. It brought up a lot for Minecraft. Minecraft also runs through Java. Some of the forum results sounded very similar to your issue. If it's an issue with Java, then maybe the minecraft issues could help you.
I know it's not much, but maybe it helps point you in the right direction.
    Good luck!
