Coming back, everything is so different

Pretty much the thread title. Looks like there have been a whole lot of changes in the last few months, though it's hard to tell, for me at least, what is going on....

I just need a wee bit of a helping hand to traverse the Wastes and begin reanimating a fighting force....some hints on to what our staples are now (I assume Mobi still is #1) would be much appreciated.

Spirits still trash?
Zombies still viable?
Death Benefit still making nubs cry?

Glad to see the Wastes are still full of warmth and camaraderie, thanks for the threads to check out, though.

 

I'd take a look at the forge prices. You left before they added legendaries didn't you?

 

Yeah, Mobi, Tome, Tomb, Bone Circle Staff (use it to destroy opposing summons), Banner, Festering Wounds. It's a wild time beyond that.

Like Cydna said, the hot things right now are global LoL, Vengeful, and zombies. They're all viable decks. If you're curious about any theme, check the templates in the "Themes" thread stickied at the top, or ask in here. "Stuff" covers most goodstuff decks right now. Yeah, work sucked me back into the black hole of long hours and little free time while they were still talking about adding them to the forge. I'll have to take some time in the forge and see what I can make. I see Poxbox is about to be closing its doors in the near future, might need to see what kind of credit I have left there as well. So, might be a good idea for me to dig up what is considered 'must have' from the last couple expansions.

Poxbox isn't closing, it's going to change ownerships/site.

 

It has always been good, people were just sleeping on it. After Boon was removed and Wounds became enemy-only, it started seeing more use because it was explicitly safe, rather than just implicitly.

 

It being safe was never the reason it went into the trash bin. It went garbage tier because of how easy it was to cleanse on a global scale. I'm going to guess that cleanse isn't as prolific as it used to be (Mind, I'm coming from a world where Boon existed)

Given that what I was reading is that credits are going to be wiped and everyone will have to re-register/start at 0, closing/changing management might as well be the same thing. But I concede that my statement was a bit ham-fisted.

 

Plenty of factions still have AoE cleanse -- at least 4 of 8, 5 if you include Paladins and they have it the best of all. Good spell even so.

 

If they use Cleansing Emerald or Herbal Antidote or whatever AoE nora cleanses they have, they end up down in nora. I use Festering Wounds to stop healing and as a finisher spell so that intial 3 damage is usually the most important.

 

Pretty much this. As a note though, the first *4* damage, not the first 3 -- it applies a rank 4 DoT. The only thing that really scampers it is Cleansing Storm which, unless Festering Wounds actually secures a kill, beats Festering Wounds clean out.

Oh, well, then it does 66% more damage than you thought. =P

If it was Diseased 3, I doubt people would run it near as much -- compare to Frostbite (though admittedly that now hurts Arctic units as well, so not a perfect parallel).

 

Yeah, but that's trading spells for spells, I was referring to champs that had cleansing auras on base all over the place. It's not such a kick in the teeth if you're spending a net of 10-15 nora to drop 4 damage on a board full of enemy units, where it used to be you ate the full 45 to deal that 4 dmg, and stop regeneration for a round.

 

Cleansing Aura is uncommon. Some units have it, but they are neither automatic includes nor automatic deploys, so if that's your worry, it's gone.

 

Recent nerf threads in general for both tomb and fester if that tells you anything. It's the same old whine though 'it's not fun to play against'. *puke*
