Don't "dislikes" still generate higher traffic in the long run? YouTube keeps changing (and breaking) things over and over but I recall them measuring activity before, including "negative" as a reason to recommend various channels.
more views is more views, period. even if it's spammed with dislikes, that'll spur contrarians to go look specifically because it's been downvoted if you want to cut away at the platform/viewership, not talking about it as much as possible is always going to be the way to do it
