In what way would you say families are weakening?

And what does a "strong nation" mean?

I think it's mostly that iPox is reasonable, articulate, and not trolling, so no one bothers to respond.

    http://www.pewsocialtrends.org/2013/05/07/gun-homicide-rate-down-49-since-1993-peak-public-unaware/

"National rates of gun homicide and other violent gun crimes are strikingly lower now than during their peak in the mid-1990s, paralleling a general decline in violent crime, according to a Pew Research Center analysis of government data. Beneath the long-term trend, though, are big differences by decade: Violence plunged through the 1990s, but has declined less dramatically since 2000."

"There is consensus that demographics played some role: The outsized post-World War II baby boom, which produced a large number of people in the high-crime ages of 15 to 20 in the 1960s and 1970s, helped drive crime up in those years."

"In 2010, there were 3.6 gun homicides per 100,000 people, compared with 7.0 in 1993, according to CDC data."

"In 2011, the NCVS estimated there were 181.5 gun crime victimizations for non-fatal violent crime (aggravated assault, robbery and sex crimes) per 100,000 Americans ages 12 and older, compared with 725.3 in 1993"

    ~

This data suggests that 1) gun violence isn't getting worse as some might suggest, 2) that the need for guns as self defense has also decreased.

    Strong Nation:

This involves a plethora of areas. Too time consuming to even try and link it all. Family, debt, education, health, happiness etc...

IMO America is crippled. Most all y'all disagree. Someone is correct. Someone else is wrong. Who sees reality? We will find out, sooner or later.

You argue that people in the US do not have the freedom to not be shot, because of the possibility of some civilian doing something bad on accident or as part of a criminal action. But that is not a reasonable perspective. They have as much freedom in that regard as Germans.

Millions feel safer in California now, because ink and paper will stop violent nut jobs from gunning down innocent people.

California Bans Concealed Handguns on School Campuses

    10-11-2015

California Governor Jerry Brown signed a bill Saturday making it against the law for concealed carry permit holders to bring handguns onto school campuses.

The new law bolsters existing restrictions in the state that prohibit the possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school or college campus without written permission from administrators, and comes less than two weeks after a gunman opened fire at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Oregon, killing 9 people and wounding 9 others.

The Firearms Policy Coalition said it will file a federal civil lawsuit against California over the concealed carry legislation.

    That's nice dear.

To be fair, they're probably more relevant and accurate than anything you've ever brought up.

Wouldn't that "momentum" exist for non-civilian owners of guns?

Similarly, does it not also exist for Knives?

idealy you have police enforcing laws, maybe things are diffirent where you live and police do nothing but shoot black people I guess?
of course this law is unenforcable without turning the school into a camp with guarded checkpoints. so yeah this is ineffective legislation.

    That's the spirit!

Only if your Black (statistically speaking, and no, that's not a "pro-white" statement, it applies to the other minorities as well, Latinos, Asians, Natives, etc. are similarly low in terms of getting killed vs. not getting killed, according to Federal data).

And they also have more freedom to fight against organizations that try to force compliance. More freedom to choose how they can defend themselves if it's necessary, etc.

Whether those are reasonable trade-offs will very likely depend on an individuals experiences and perceptions.

But really, I thought "possibility of violation" meaning less freedom was not a reasonable perspective?

I am slightly confused. You taught me yourself that the United States have a higher 'white only' murder rate (of which 67% were commited with firearms):

Did I misunderstand your post(s) in some way?

Also, I do feel the urge to point out, that I find the statement "only if your black" slightly offensive.
But I'm also fairly certain that this wasn't your intention.
