Final Retirement

It’s been a long journey, lots of friends and foes (some of which became friends over time). This is indeed a rough game to play, losing can feel so personal… Sometimes we’ll blame balance, but you always have that moment where you think: Maybe I could have played better.


Nevertheless it’s been great fun, for all the pain this game may cause, it also causes great joy; this is the truest definition of love I can ever give. I dare say I once loved this game. (My ex would argue quite a bit more than her ha-ha!)


But life moves on, you only have so much passion to give, and I’ve tried to fight this feeling for a long time (the first draft of this speech was written 1 year ago), always taking a break from the game to try to reignite it. Usually that would do the trick but I fear my passion has changed its direction away from this game, onto the real world.


I simply cannot keep playing casually honestly; it’s against my character to play or do anything I am not passionate enough about to give my all. Losing when passionate used to ignite me to work harder (even if it was painful), but now it simply depresses me; I refused to retire for so long because I didn’t want to be a quitter, but it dawned on me that I wasn’t hating losing, I was hating playing.

For all of you struggling to reach the high ranks, ignore all the neigh-sayers, they will tell you high rank means nothing. But it’s not about what they believe, if it means something to you that’s all that really matters, and ever will. Don’t fall too hard on the losses, keep playing, and don’t rise too high with the victories; for you can only fall the distance you have risen.

I don't remember if it even happened honestly , but if it did probably would have been burn.... i was good and getting better at a crazy rate looking back, but burn was still pretty good

Keep doing what your doing with the balance suggestions friend , just remember that current power surpluses create future power deficiencies when it comes to balance
