Well, it may be a little out of your normal genre. But Spartacus has had a few seasons and has quite an outstanding cast along with special effects, blood, gore, and does a decent job of depicting the time period. It does have a fair share of sexual undertones, which again for the time period are pretty accurate. The actor that plays Spartacus in the first season, Andy Whitefield, who does an AMAZING job, actually passes away from a battle with cancer during the time between the first season and second season. He is replaced by Liam McIntyre, who is unable to live up to the character Andy has created, but after a few episodes you get used to it. Manu Bennentt dominates the role of Crixus though. The series is actually based on the historical uprising of Spartacus, and has some decent links to actual history books on the subject as well.
Just realised you don't have game of thrones up there Might be over rated as a show but still a good one
I saw you saw the strain. Season finale was last night. I saw it... What did you think of the season? Very intriguing plot but poor acting and effects imo. I liked it tho!
also me and my lady friend are watching doctor who atm... First season is a bit cheesy but it gets better.
Ops, I forgot about Spartacus. I watched all of the seasons of Spartacus and the ending was sad @PurpleTop, I haven't watched the season finale yet, but I don't really like the actors. I don't understand how their group of an old man, a Rat Exterm @Geressen, Read all the Hunger Game books, was not surprised when Rue died. Should I watch Firefly or Battlestar Galatica? I think I might like Battlestar Galatica more, but not sure. Also, has anyone watched Terranova? I loved that show. I read when they cancelled it that Netflix was planning on buying it. Maybe they will... eventually.
battlestar galatica is pretty long series didn't firefly get cancelled pretty early on? if so i'd say that one first
Ray Donovan, Firking awesome. Also, Vikings. Great story, some of the best scenery since LoTR. 24, one of my fave all times Hell on Wheels - totes bawss Justified, oner of my fave all times, Olyphant is just so gud. Also, Deadwood. I wouldnt usually recommend an unfinished series but its well worth it. Sherlock Holmes BBC series, epic True Detective - was really good on a ho nuva levul. I just went back and watched Brotherhood and I really liked that one. The Unit, fantastic. Suits, wonderful. Blacklist, shaping up nicely.
Definitely agree with Vikings, Justified, Deadwood, and Sherlock. Hell on Wheels kinda meh. Also Breaking Bad and The Wire should be on anyone's shortlist of shows to watch.
anyone watch sons of anarchy? edit: can this thread just be changed to "shows that are good maybe thread"?
