Why aren't we talking about onion turtle and punchy rock?

Man, the grind gets real after 21, Still at 22 with 50k xp to go. Downtown Austin is stacked as all hell. It's madness how many people are out at pokestops and charmander chasing. If I could go downtown everyday for 2+ hours I'd be 23/24 fairly quickly.

But the reality is I have like 1 1/2 pokemon spawns near my house with a short drive to the nearest pokestop.

 

Longboards make this game pretty easy

 

Trick for lvl 20+ is to find good spots where you can mooch off people spamming lures; like 3 or 4 lures, and u sit in middle. Or you literally have to spend whole days out there like @PhdNiceGuy. Then when your box is full, you use lucky eggs to evolve all your crap for exp. Personally now, idc as much about levels because higher lvls is aids due to higher cp. Literally every time I see 200+ pidgeys or other evolve materials, I wanna puke.

 

Yeah, I mean, are we forgetting which games forum we're on? *Obviously* the other two thirds of the day are spent playing Pox Nora.

Well, it's kind of hard to tell through text. Thats why I use emoji's all the time, its about the only way to show that your being sarcastic/silly >.<

 

2nd pokemon I caught. There's loads of them in my area. Also, I have like at least 6-7 pokestops when I walk to the metro. And they're everywhere in the centre of Saint Petes too.

 

it seems like in Russia there's loads of them everywhere, unlike in US. I have at least 5 within a 5 minute walk radius. 1 is like 30 seconds away from me. I wonder how it'll be in Ukraine.

I don't really play much, mostly because I'm a bit too old to get away with it.

But my girlfriend is pretty hooked, and I have noticed that a lot of pokestops are at pubs, and that they often have a lure module running constantly. So people are paying Nintendo for lure thingies in the hope of extra business from alcohol craving pokefiends.

Pokemon Go - Big News Update
BIG NEWS - So last night Pokemon Go was decoded. This is often referred to as "data mining" where they look in the game code for things we didn't know yet. This is all being compiled to post, but here are some early highlights:
- The Trainer Level Cap is 40.
- Egg's cap at Level 20, so if you get an Egg at Level 37 it'll still hatch at the same quality as if you were level 20.
- Wild Pokemon cap at Level 30, meaning after Level 30 everyone will find the same max CP Pokemon and it'll be a matter of spending the candy and stardust to upgrade them to your level's cap based on their CP arc.
- There is an achievement/badge rank above gold.
- Curveballs and Accurate Throws (Nice, Great, Etc) have been confirmed as helping with the capture chance of a Pokeball throw.
- There may be future Incubators that reduce the amount of kilometers needed before they hatch. (There is an incubator called "distance" in the code)
- Moves have an Accuracy and a Critical Hit Rate.
- Each unique Pokemon has it's own Capture and Flee rate.
- Move Damage may go up with Trainer Level.
- Pokemon do become harder to catch as you level up.
- Mewtwo, Moltres, Zapdos, Articuno are Legendary.
- Mew is Mythic.
- Farfetch'd is out there... somewhere. As is Ditto.
- The Charge Meter is filled 0.5 for each 1 HP of damage dealt. This means a super effective move that does more damage will charge the special attack faster - that is actually really important to know.
- To level from 39 to 40 takes FIVE MILLION EXPERIENCE, and going from 1 to 40 takes Twenty Million. On my best day I can get about one hundred thousand exp, maybe 125k. So that's like 3-4 months to go from 39 to 40. Won't be seeing that any time soon! lol
- Pokemon have a base Attack, Defense and Stamina (HP) - thus they do not have a Attack and Special Attack stat like in the 3DS games.
- Dragonite has the strongest base attack for non-legends, at 250.
- MewTwo has a base attack of 284.
- Moltres has the highest base attack of the three legendary birds.
- Articuno has the highest base defense of the three.
- Zapdos is almost as high as Moltres in base attack but is likely lower due to Type Advantage.
- Pokemon have an evolution modifier AND a HP modifier when they evolve both CP and HP go up a set multiplier.
- Defending Pokemon at a Gym attack every 1.5 seconds.
- The Master Ball is in the game, no clue where it is found.
- The Legendary Pokemon do have a spawn rate - BUT - they have no capture rate, could this mean they require a Master Ball?
- STAB is present in the game, giving a 25% Bonus to an attack move. STAB stands for "Same Type Attack Bonus" and means if a Grass Pokemon uses a Grass move it will hit harder than if a Ground Pokemon used the same Grass move. This is a big deal confirmation.
These aren't 100% confirmed to come out, just what our sources has found in the game files.

Not to be "that guy" but all that information has been on reddit for like a week or so.

 

I'm level 14. Las Vegas is a shitty place to be because we don't have any water around us aka no water pokemon.

 

Farfetch'd is confirmed to be Japan's exclusive

 

Real accuracy based on RNG simply doesn't exist in the game. I have attacked more then 50 gyms since I started, and neither me or my friend has ever missed a single move, regardless of what move. However, pseudo accuracy is in effect when the AI uses your pokemon to defend your gym because dodge can be used by the attacker. But it is not the same thing as in real pokemon games because in real pokemon games moves go through RNG when its cast (unless 100% acc move), whereas the attackers in GO can only use personal SKILL to dodge. All skills have a cast duration/time/anamation. For example, from personal observation, 60 damage ults or 1 bar skills have the same cast times and longest time therefore making them the worse to defend gyms with because it is so easy to dodge (I rarely get hit by hyper beams from snorlax).

If the game does have crit, no message pops out (real games do) when pokes crit so idk.

Anybody knows if the game has 4x super effective like in real games. For example lighting vs gyrados which is flying+water

 

I've had attacks straight-up miss my guys before. Not dodging, just a miss.

That is impossible unless your drunk/bug. Literally if your attacking a Gym and your standing still, every move the AI throws at you will land.

That is cause u don't do gyms lol I.e. no need to spend dusts to power up. I'm currently sitting on 2 2000~ cp egg tree and vaporeon with power ups maxed out.

 

Based on what section of code? I had 3 attacks miss in a row literally yesterday.

 

Like I typed before, I have never seen the "dodged" message pop up while standing COMPLETELY STILL in well over 50 gym battles. And I rarely dodge cept for ults. Maybe u were lagging? Couple days ago my friend thought water gun from vaporeon was doing super effective vs jolteon cause of lag/bug.
