I'm pretty sure it is true. I found some literature which only had such silly percentages, and judging by how much time I spend shoving meaningless formulas from A to B I can very well imagine going the same route. I am legitimately pissed

Well, maybe attitudes are different in physical chemistry. I could imagine, anyway - with twenty correlating values producing errors the urge to throw everything you can out of the window grows stronger with each moment.
