No, seeing how any race of women/guy can be a "gold digger"

 

A whole race of people could be miners, thus literally, digging for gold?

 

Most of the mineral handling is left to the constructs these days unless you count the process of crafting cores for the rock heads. Most dwarves on Nora mining duty are the beardless outcasts that are just a tad bit slow.

 

Miners now a day are called prospectors. No one technically is a miner in these modern times.
