The launcher loads up fine but when I go to start the game, the words "Pox Nora" flash across the screen and then.... nothing. I played this morning before the patch and everything was fine.

    specs

    geforce gtx 465 335.23 drivers
    8g ram
    windows 7 64 bit

Tried restarting...uninstalled and reinstalled Poxnora...still just doesn't work...almost feel like you're trying to get me to quit...

After clicking the launcher, then clicking "Play," it will flash the words "POXNORA," but the client will not be launched.

Unable to play after this latest patch. :(

Nothing has really changed with this patch. After talking with Gedden, he seems to think this could be network issue, Try rebooting your computer if you haven't already.

It could be location based issue where where the CDN/name changes may have not caught up to you.

If you are still having this issue after restarting please start a forum conversation with me and and post the problem and your game logs in the conversation.
    1. We need to know what operating system you are using and the version of that operating system. Example: Mac OS 10.5.8 or Windows Vista Service Pack 2.
    2. We need you to provide the error and output log. These are found in your Pox Nora install directory in the logs folder. Example: C/Program Files/Desert Owl Games/Pox Nora/logs
The logs will allow us to tell if there is something like a file missing or not, but try restarting first.

Computer is running windows xp professional service pack 3, 2.66Ghz Dual core, 3.24Gb ram, with ~16Gb free hard drive space on that drive. I rebooted when it first happened, but it didn't help. I just assumed it was down for maintenance or something the first time, but that's clearly not the case now. I didn't get any errors the last time the game patched, and I don't remember not being able to play immediately after the patch; I think it was the time after that when I ran poxnora that it wouldn't start anymore. Ask if you need anything else, but that's about all I've got. When I run poxnora, I get the announcements screen. I then click play now, and the poxnora logo comes up, and then it disappears and the program quits.

edit: Oh, and disabling windows firewall is NOT an option, like someone else suggested in another thread. I don't feel like giving up control of my computer to some guy in Russia or Sao Tome or something.

I'm having the same problem as others. I can open the client and click play as normal, but then the Pox Nora logo shows up and quickly disappears and nothing happens afterwards.

I don't know if this will help people because it sounds a bit like voodoo but I uninstalled and installed in a new directory and now I can play.

    Hrm, interesting.

Combined with some people saying that they installed it off of a separate computer and bringing it into their main computer I wonder if there is something there that could be causing it.

Still any information can be useful. Glad to hear that you can enter the game at least!

Wow, I just tried this and it worked! I installed to 'C:\Program Files\Poxnora' instead of C:\Program Files\Pox Nora' and I'm in a game right now.
