A couple of months ago I saw you sort of announce that you were quitting this game.. but yet you still here and crying. Why you just can't find another game with fully functional development and not ruled/balancing by just one person with whom you have a conflict?

Almost everything that Eth have done are very good additions and changes. Definitely better than it was before, at least something has moved on from the dead condition, in which all this has been stucked for a very long time, even before I myself knew about the existence of this game.

p.s I left PoxNora myself because I just can't stand a very long matches (for an hour and a half or even more) anymore, knowing that even if I win, I won't get anything worthy as a reward. So any attempts to stand against some annoying meta-archetypes is just pointless for me. No motivation or some kind of "sporting interest" at all.
So I personally moved to Magic the Gathering where I finally felt well.

I recommend you too, to find a similar alternative, DiceMoney. Because such seething on the forum will not lead to anything.

I don't have a conflict with Beth. I think he has treated me mostly fairly, although i don't like him as a person, and he has treated me unfairly on occasion, overall I think he is somewhat professional. Where I take issue is his skill level and knowledge of pox. Put simply, I don't think he is smart enough to be in charge of this game. He also puts very little effort into the game, as you can tell by looking at the games he plays in discord (hint: he doesn't play pox).

I would argue the game is in a worse state than when we started. I don't think many players see it, because they aren't very dedicated to this game (as you exemplify).

Either that or as i stated in a previous thread, I suspect many players have stockhold syndrome from being abused in their every day life. It could also be that the player base has become frail and mentally deficient from frequent porn use. Either way, I am not used to the same standards that the vast majority of poxnora are accustomed & comfortable with.

As for my personal quitting of the game, I effectively have. I play very little, and I play other games now (very sad). The game has become worse , so for the few games I do play, I'm astonished how bad it has become. I actually think if someone was trying to ruin the game subtly, this is the way to do it. To that end i actually appreciate the skill involved. I think if this effort was applied elsewhere, the world would be a much worse place, so I understand why someone would ruin pox, it's really an act of kindness.

I'm quite committed to this game, I still miss my cyclopes. I'm aren't very dedicated to community-attachment. Feel the difference?

And I'm not talking about specific people or something.. I am referring to the very concept of being completely dependent on people who are still playing, especially those who have been playing for a very long time and are quite well-known players.
The players chooses the way to play the most annoying and filthy decks for no reason (and maining the most op factions like UD & FW all the time, yep bro), the players communicate with each other and with Eth on discord, talking about possible buffs & nefs and other changes. According to their opinion and known status, both bad and good ideas are born, which are subsequently implemented, if it is technically possible.

And I know that Eth also bringing many his own ideas, beyond the opinion and approval of others. But the "others" who is well known faction-mains can greatly affect these changes.. Or at least getting some buffed alternative instead of the nerfed ones.

This is just an ordinary cycle for a game that has stopped large-scale development and innovations. And all that remains.. Just a small part of the dedicated community and one guy who is trying to bring and improve at least something. And your opinion about all of this just flies out because of the aggressive temper and manners that you have demonstrated again and again on discord. Try to understand it somehow, apologize and join back in.
Well, or you can continue to be paranoid who talks about the worst situation & condition of the game for all the time, just like Sakis did since 2012.

In general, all I want to say.. don't look for the problem in the specific people, look for the problem in the concept of the game itself and how it runnin' most of the existing time. The real dark times in Pox were at the moment when the rights were bought by SOE, I fortunately didn't catch that time, but even I know how bad it was then.
When everything that concerns the balance of the game is regulated by one or a couple of people, and not by a whole team of specialists who have done this before for many years.. It is worth considering whether it is worth to stay here. For me personally, no, but as I pointed out above, I have my own personal reasons, which are least related to balance.

You stupid idiot, how could you make a mistake like that? Who taught you how to read? People like you ruin the game.

I think your view is skewed. I agree that some people in this game think that what they are doing is completely legit, while everything else is fine (ironically I'd say that for example, cyclops can be pretty bs, especially with their buffs for example). Its wide spread in the community and again I go back to the fact that it likely comes from some form of depravity or psychological trauma.

That being said, what you said just isn't accurate. Not all people are treated fairly. A perfect example is @PoxBot literally getting rank one while simultaneously being disrespected by the community and in particular the larger pox community (despite actual good players sharing many of his same opinions on balance). In particular, I know Beth likely was arrogant and thought he knew better than the rank 1 player on many issues.

Another example? I literally got rank 10 with only stitched combo. I could have easily got much higher, had I continued (ironically I stopped and went on to play ff fw, which is objectively a weaker deck). I have never seen people rage quit more than my slow journey to top 10 (tbh, it took me about 100 games + to optimize the combo deck). Not only did people rq, but I only lost to decks that are arguably as broken as stitched combo.

The reason this is funny, is because I had been saying that this combo was busted pretty much since September, but I was ignored in favor of people who support Joe Biden.

That being said, ff UD might be best ff deck, that is true.

I don't think I responded to everything in your post, but I will say that pox is fairly unique and hard to replace atm. I'd gladly switch to capitulator game if it had more players and slightly more polish. But I like the competitive turn based RTS feel of pox. My biggest grievance with starcraft is that it's too hard to control; my largest grievance with moba games is that farm mechanics are very boring (even LOL requires intense farming mechanics knowledge). Pox is really straight forward in a lot of ways, and very fun to improve at thanks to its ccg aspects.

When I came back to pox during covid, my experience playing tes legends is what made me a much better pox player. I can see why you'd gravitate to HS; it's a really cool card game.

Recently I've just been busy with real life, getting back into gym etc. I am playing digimon cybersleuth right now tho, and that is really fun. Your digimon level up and get stronger if you leave ur switch / vita in standby mode, so it's kind of the opposite of playing fw in pox nora, which is a welcome change.

I don't think he's playing , there aren't many actual good players left in pox , his alt would be spotted.

i wouldn't want the position Etherlin has even if octopi pays me, the constant "why you buffed this and nerfed that" would drive me insane.
except when he buffs FW in that case he's always correct.

Nah, the worst part is having to deal with Dice's constant trolling.

I'd do it for free. In fact, I already had made a comprehensive ban list for every faction prior to Beth being allowed to make changes to the game, so that people could play games with less OP runes in customs/ tournaments. It took a lot of time to do, but it was something I was passionate enough to do on my own without a reward. By merit I should have been the lead dev. By popularity, I can still think of plenty of people who are more well respected and liked than Beth. And to be clear, it should only be about merit. You don't grow a game like pox by handing it over to ppl that don't play the game. This common sense lesson is ignored time and time again by DOG, and that's why they can't turn a profit, not so much whatever excuse they have.

In fact, I'd be happy to answer every question of why I buffed this and nerfed that. It's called logic and reasoning, something that Beth doesn't understand. As for fear of being hassled, which I think is what you are alluding to, Beth can just ban people he doesnt like and talk Bane Shift about them. The only repercussions are ppl botting the discord and pox nora server / website, which honestly is his only real check and balance in power. He clearly abuses his power, and only works for his own power trip fantasy, as anyone who isn't a push over can see (@JazzMan1221 is safe).

If you want to work in games, you have to know you will get feedback.

Honestly, NO feedback is worse because it means no one is playing your game.
