just curious since I have't played many games recently how common are single target offensive abilities in the meta? curious if it's ever worth bringing subsume. actually a better question would be what does subsume even work against.... pounce/pull comes t mind but other than that I can't think of many other abilities really run that target the enemy directly.
Ya it's always been pretty lack lustre too many abilities are designed passive for it to be useful. Oh well
I kind of wish it triggered off friendly targets as well, would go from a garbage ability to a A+ ability instantly. would need to change to only trigger off abilities that cost 1 or more ap to prevent abuse but it would be quite neat. anyway as for spells there are some really nasty targetted spells it can buffer against, but not a ton really.
hex, cruse, declare target, block and dodge (if unit is targeted), mark of vengeance, knockout, stun, knock back, explosive attack, throw bolder, chuck moga, metamorphosis (maybe), death pact, charge, the list goes on and on. Not all meta, but not impossible to encounter.
