She just ticks a lot of boxes for UD: Initiative + drive means she can have a long-range impact on the battlefield the turn she is deployed, pushing tempo. She can be a support unit if the UD player can't maintain the low-resource state. She can transition seamlessly into a combat unit unit to maintain pressure. Magic damage and 1-3 range provide versatility.
Doomie > Messenger But ultimately it's all about style. I never take Grimlic, but old Pincushion is auto. Also loving 2x Rip Demons at 61 nora
Those champs have two completely different roles. Messenger is a support champ and I'd say that her closest competition is imp alchemist which is superior as a support champ. The issue is that UD's game plan doesn't need support champs. Messenger is useful if the game starts to pull out of UD's gameplan but she maintains her usefulness if/when the UD player gets it back on track. Doombringer is just a scaling threat. A very good one.
Yup. It's all about BG balance rather than auto includes. I enjoy arrow eaters so bounce is helpful along with flight and alt damage at 1-3. Messenger is nice but not in my BG
