How so? no one is forcing you to go to church or taking away your right to be secular. As for politicians mentioning god more than our actual problems.... For 8 years you had a secular president who pretended he believed in god (Obama). How did the policies of a secular president work out for you? I'm not really interested in arguing about religion, but why do you think Obama wasn't really christian but Trump is the real deal? To me christian values are things like compassion, altruism, humility, forgiveness, love for your fellow man. In what world do these things say 'Trump' to you?
On a related note, I think @Sokolov or somebody linked an article that had part of an interview with Trump talking about how he hasn't asked for God's forgiveness, saying he does his best to do nothing wrong, and whatnot. Within Christian religions, the need to actually ask for forgiveness of sin, and the omnipresence of sin in all us "imperfect humans" is a central tenet. I mean, that doesn't mean he doesn't necessarily believe in God... just that as far as being Christian... meh. "I tell you I know humility. I've got the best humility. No one can do better than me at being humble let me tell you."
What I care about is security for my own country, replacing sloppy obamacare that penalizes people who barely make enough to survive, stopping aid to Israel, and quit fighting wars that are not necessary. I knew what Hillary would do but I am more interested in what Trump will do and he seems like he will make positive changes for america. Furthermore I never said Trump was christian. I could care less. Trump has not had a chance to create any policy at all. The world and the media condemned him based on identity politics from the beginning. Let Trump do something as president first then I can say if "Trump is the real deal". You don't have to believe in god to be a good person, but for some people this system of morality helps them more than having a secular system of belief. Christianity can be summed with one word love. It is based on loving god with all your heart, soul, and mind. In addition to this the second rule is to love your neighbor as you know you should be loved. Matthew 22:37-40.

Do you have ANY idea how hard it is NOT to find a religious person telling you that you have to be religious, all the mothers and farthers who do force there children to believe even when they don't. When you get inaugurated you god is mentioned, when you say the pledge of allegiance " ONE NATION UNDER GOD ", When you go into a hotel there is almost always a bible. Naturally most people don't have a choice to make a decision on what they believe they have been brainwashed to blindly follow religion. I don't think Obama was a christian at all certainly didn't act like one but frankly doesn't matter to me if anything it let him get things done. Obama worked out just fine for me pushed to stop off shore drilling, made thousands anchors of land preserved, got the Paris Agreement done in under a year which they said was impossible, killed Osama Bin Laden, got unemployment under 4%, continuous job growth for 27 months, made it so Americans serve less time for stupid jail sentences like marijuana charges, actually exonerated people who shouldn't have been jail for stupid periods of time or not at all ( the most ever ) made gay marriage legal? Do I even keep going? Finally YES he gave everyone universal healthcare once again we were the only major country who didn't have this.. The only thing wrong with ACA is that republicans were against it at every turn had they not happened ACA would be way better. Now republicans seek to remove it without even having a replacement? And they really are getting attacked on every end about it, it's already proven that premium rates will go up EVEN MORE than it ACA just stayed in place..

I think most politicians give lip service to being Christian just because it will get them votes from religious people, and probably not lose them any from the non religious. Some will believe to some degree and some will be faking it. For me the scary ones are the ones who are serious about it and let it inform their policy - see Tony Blair, perhaps he was trusting in god that Iraq would turn out well.
I'm a younger dude and I can tell you our world will be completely different in 20 years, most young people don't seem much religious at all I find it strange how that happens. Wekp if we survive these 4 anyhow got a lot to go.
It is not universal healthcare. It is a mandate forcing people to sign up for a sponsored healthcare company that is affiliated with the government. No republicans opposing it was not the problem. If you understand simple economics you would see that covering the entire nation is going to cost more and more every year. The gov't is not allowing health care companys to compete acoss state lines in this ACA so they just raise premiums. NO healthcare is better than bankrupting my brother because he has four children and the gov't wants him to sign up for this crap in addition to what he already has. Please escape from your pipe dream. When the ACA premiums hit your mail box you will agree.
the solution is clear, nationalize it. the problem is you guys allow everything to be a for profit company.

Thanks for your collectivist endorsement but this affordable care act is not working no matter how much you want to be a philanthropist to the world. I have read much and tried to make sense of this but no. The penalties many in my community are getting in the mail say otherwise in addition to the evidence that shows premiums will increase.
