I've got a Rapid Assault and the few things I've found useful to do with it are of course Rapid Assault on a Firemaw, Rapid Assault on a Greater Pitspawn (this needs an enemy close to your font or AP generation close at hand) and finally Rapid Assault on a Nefari Fireslinger (the spell that walks like a man).

The Fireslinger is a good target since all you often want to do with him is walk forward, drop a Lava Storm and die at the feet of an enemy for the Death Nova - Lava 2 effect so getting him for 40 nora is a deal.

Also Reinforce on the Conscripted Warrior will pop a unit deployed with Rapid Assault back to your dock and you get 50% of the cost of the unit refunded. If they ever make a 200 nora UD champ it could be useful. Right now I've just used this effect on a 120 nora Greater Pitspawn.

Edit: I should mention that if your enemy didn't notice that your Greater Pitspawn was summoned via a Rapid Assault (which I've had happen more than once) the massive over reaction can be very funny. Luckily my "Hot Foot" Deck runs Firemaw, Greater Pitspawn and Nefari Fireslinger so Rapid Assault has a good home there. I've also used it on a Nightmare with Initiative for a quick Flamestrike and some free lava on the following turns.
