This Guide is to help FW (Forsaken Wastes) players wake the dead and teach the living about eternal slumber.
*Please Post if you feel something should be edited, added, or removed from this guide.* If you already know a lot about FW Champs, Spells, and Relics, then you should visit these sites: (GEorGERMn's Playing the Wastes) http://forums.poxnora.com/showthread.php?t=153 (Lord Serkan's FW Cooldown Numbers) http://forums.poxnora.com/showthread.php?t=341 Here are some abbreviations and words for people who don't understand. FF = Full Faction 10/10 = Half and Half BG's BG = Battle Group CD = Cooldown DoT = Damage over time AoE = Area of Effect FW = Forsaken Wastes LK = Lich King ToH = Tome of Hate UT = Unholy Tomb DKn = Dark Knight Mobi = Mobilization Skelly = Skeleton Spd = Speed Dmg = Damage Hp = Hitpoints First I'll start off with some tips when playing FW. 1. Don't Rely on the Mobilization Spell to do everything for you. 2. Keep your Champs Cheap to use the full power of the Faction Bonus. 3. Rares and Exotics are not the keys to Winning. 4. FW cannot be played by throwing random runes into a BG 5. Rushing is almost impossible with FW 6. 64 nora is the Cut-off for 4 turn CD in FF FW 7. Watch Other FW Player play and Practice before starting ranked play Lets start off with some FW Champions. Any Build with a (*) next to it is the build i prefer. First off will be the Best of the Best Champs============================================ ========================================== Lich King!!! (LK): Theres is no denying that LK is one of the best champs anyone can have. with 0 CD and 4-8 range he truly is the King. Remember that immortality hurts your shrine so run a Tome of Hate or Elsari Mason. Builds: *11spd, 11dmg, tele 1, +6hp for 100 nora (All around good guy build) 11spd, 12 dmg, tele 1 for 99 nora (Heavy Hitter) 11spd, tele 1 for 89 nora (Inspire me please) 9spd, tele 1, +10 hp for 85 nora Uses: LK has 4-8 range & teleport, with 11spd he can teleport and attack on the same turn. The Best way to run a Lich King is Hit-and-Run. Save your AP, walk up, attack, and teleport back. Inspiring a Lich King can be devastating. Once your up to about 25dmg killing is as easy as eating brains. Give him a Sac Dagger and BAM! Instant surrender. =) Xulos, Undead Sage (FW Hero!): A must have in your BG, a skeleton with death touch, dark favor, and range 2-5! Xulos has no 1 build, he revolves around your BG. Builds: *Dark favor 3 for 100nora (Reanimate in a global damage BG) 10spd for 97 nora (Skelly BG's with Tomb lord to give him 11spd) 11spd, Drain 2, Mind Wipe, +6 hp for 119 nora (Xulos is my Titan) 9spd, Drain 1 for 97 nora Uses: Xulos is know for his awesome abilities. Dark Favor 3 is 9 Global Damage. Reanimate and that's 18! Mindwipe Aura 1 can't be cleansed, helps you disengage, and goes out 2 spaces. Mindwipe 2 is 3 spaces. Grace of The Dead is one of the few healing options in FW. Grace 2 heals 12, then 6 next turn. Since Xulos is a Skelly, he gets +1spd and instant 16dmg to start off. Drain can be used on Summoned Skelly's. Bone Elemental: Another must-have for skelly BG's and can be included in any other BG. Builds: *65 nora (Cheapest) Uses: The point is to get him to be attacked as many times as possible. Then use those bunch of Bonemaulers to PWN! Carrion Colossus (FW Titan): Some people say he's good, others say he's horrible. Well he's not that good compared to the other Titans. Builds: Disease Aura 3 for 118 nora Uses: Umm... I don't know.... OLD: Used with a Soul Siren, Aura lvl 3. Pops out carrionlings every turn. (Very effective) Executioner: One of the best commons in the game. He's relatively Cheap, lots of Def, Hp, and Dmg. Remember that he has Scorn, so run a Tome of Hate (ToH) or Elsari Mason. Builds: *11spd for 69 nora (Did someone say Speed!) 9spd, exert 3, +2 hp for 69 nora *9spd, exert 2, +2 hp for 64 nora (4 turn Cooldown) 9spd, + 6 hp for 64 nora Uses: A great melee muscle champ. He can usually pull of 2 attacks every turn. Skeletal Berserker: One of my favorite runes. Only hard part is training him to Short Lived 2(SL2). Remember that he has Spite, so run a ToH or Elsari Mason. Builds: *10spd, SL2, Multi 1for 49nora (Lets get ready to rumble) Uses: While your opponent is coming at you or is relatively close to your font, send him out, 2 if you can. Skelly Zerkers can tear down a brick wall and still get home in time for dinner. With the Skeleton Boost they are incredible. Bonemauler: Another uber awesome common for FW. He's an auto-include for skelly BG's. Builds: *Vuln-Magic, Multi-Attack 1, Rend 2 for 64 nora (Attack!) *Vuln-Magic, Rend 3, +6 hp for 64 nora (DoT!) Uses: Can be combine with death guard to maximize attacks. try to attack as many times as possible before dying. Necromancer: OLD: One of the best Nora Generation in the Game. People make BG's based on the Necro. Soulharvester: Whenever this unit destroys a champion, you gain nora equal to HALF the destroyed champion`s nora cost. Remember that the Necro is not undead, so Unholy Tomb (UT) and Disease get her. Builds: 9spd, Soulharvest for 64 nora (4 turn Cooldown) *9spd, Soulharvest, Summon 3 for 75 nora (for Skelly BG's) Summon 3 for 54 nora (for Skelly BG's) Uses: Used with Soul Siren or Tomb Lord. You can inspire so that the Necro can actually kill units or, just relocate foe and use the rest of your units to bring down the champs health below 6. One kill with this unit can win you the game. It has turned tables and devastated enemies. Tomb Lord: A must have for every Skelly BG. He has Boost skeleton, can Inspire, and can summon. Some people like their Tomb Lords expensive other try to keep them as Cheap as possible. Builds: *Boost 3, Inspire, Summon 2 for 83 nora (Inspiring) Boost 3, Summon 3 for 84 nora (Skelly Minions!) Boost 3, 9spd for 73 nora (Get out there quick!) Uses: Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show. Since the Tomb Lord is the base of every Skelly BG, it's not a good idea to send him head first into battle. Just summon a wall of skelly minions. Use your other skelly champs to do the fighting, and make sure they're in range of the boost. Afflicted Corpse: Awesome meat shield that fights pretty well. He amps Disease a bit, but not enough to influence Festering Wounds. Running 2 of these in a Disease BG is always a good idea. Builds: *Death Nova 1, +4 hp for 39 nora Uses: A great wall champ. Used in disease BG's to defend fonts or Shrines. Hard to plow through, and a decent damage dealer. CD is 2! Elsari Mason: Good Mobility and Shrine heal? what more can you ask for? Shire Exertion hurts your shrine by 10, but every time he attacks he heals your shrine. If you run a ToH then it's practically getting AP for free. Builds: *9spd for 64 nora 9spd, Mason 2, +2 hp for 69 nora 10dmg, +6 hp for 69 nora (run with Tomb Lord) Uses: Now some people thing that Executioner is a better version of mason. Wrong, Mason is just a different kind of Executioner. His exertion doesn't hurt himself. Mason is also a Skelly, and heals shrines. Picking between Executioner and Mason is like picking either Mobility or Damage. Soul Siren: Our Relocate Enemy Champion! No Necro BG can Survive without one, or two. Most people run it for the Relocate, but some also use the Warcry Option. Though experienced players find that Warcry 1 isn't worth the nora cost. Builds: 9spd, +8 hp for 63 nora *11spd, +8 hp for 73 nora 9spd, Warcry, +6 hp for 73 nora (Warcry) Uses: Gives you the edge before battle. Allows you to have the first strike, because the enemy is always trying to stay a bit out of relocate range. Then you reel one in, move your army forward while killing that poor soul. Crossbones: I'd have to say that he is one of the most usable champs in FW. He fits perfectly in Skelly & Disease BGs. He can almost replace an LK if you don't have one. Builds: *9spd, Poison 3, +6 hp for 64 nora Uses: Hit-and-Run, with poison 3 you get to sit back and enjoy. Initially he does 5dmg, then the poison does an extra 5,4,3,2,1. That's 20dmg in total! Spectral Emissary: Our Diplomat. Many people wonder if they should craft one or not. In my opinion i think they shouldn't. I've run Skelly BG's and have found that LK is almost always better, but if you can afford 2 LK's and a Diplo then go for it. Cause Stun really comes in handy. Builds: 11spd, Life Siphon for 89 nora *12spd, Life Siphon for 94 nora (Skelly BG) 12spd for 85 nora (Skelly BG) Uses: I haven't really come to like this guy, he was a big let down for me. At first I thought Inspire with Life Siphon, but turns out that's not so good. As LK and Xulos are much better Inspire targets. I guess people would use him in a skelly bg but run him cheap, Life Siphon is not needed since he has a Bullseye on him. Vampyre: A great long lasting close quarters champ. He has Life Siphon and Phase shift Which allow him to last possibly an entire game. Builds: 11spd, Phase Shift, +4 hp for 84 nora 11spd, Phase Shift, +4 hp, 14dmg, for 94 nora 11spd, 12 dmg for 79 nora Uses: If the enemy has no magical attacks then your as good as invincible when you phase shift. Get hurt, Attack, Phase Shift, Double Attack, rinse and repeat. Zombie Behemoth: This champ is what Lich BG's revolve around. A great champ at a reasonable nora cost. Builds: 11spd, Vuln-Fire, +4 hp for 69 nora or add constriction for an extra 10 nora Uses: Summon build up AP, "It's clobbering time" Last edited by xDiablo13x; 02-04-2009 at 07:26 PM. |

Champions========================================= ================================================== ===

Builds: *9spd, Berserker 3, +2 hp for 74 nora (Berserker) 9spd, Pulverize 3, +4 hp for 79 nora (Pulverize) Uses: Basically a good melee champ, most players either run him cheap or very expensive. When running at a high nora cost be sure to use a Sacrificial Dagger. Anthropomancer: I have no personal experience with this rune but with Aruspicy/Favor he seems usable. Builds: 9spd, +4 hp for 64 nora Divine Favor 2, 9spd, +1 hp for 69 nora (Divine Favor) 9spd, Curse 2, +4 hp for 74 nora (Curse BG) 11spd, Curse 2, +6 hp for 84 nora (Curse BG) Uses: One of the key units in a Curse BG. Having the upgrade option of curse 2, and being a lich, he is very useful behind a behemoth. Animated Blade: Our Shattering, DoT, Skelly Champ, but with low hp. Builds: 9spd for 68 nora 9spd, Rend 3 for 75 nora Uses: Obviously for shattering equiptment, others use him for his DoT. Flight and multi attack come in handy as well. Arctic Beast: Another DoT champ with Climb for FW Builds: 9spd, Chill 2, Climb for 73 nora 9spd, Chill 3 for 74 nora Uses: So far I've only seen him in DoT BG's his climb ability can also come in handy. Bile Zombie: Our Suicidal Font Defending Champ. Builds: Exert 1 for 34 nora (Keeping it Cheap, Dezhem) Bile Explosion 4 for 38 nora Exert 2 for 38 nora Uses: Used for running into a bunch of units and blinding them all, or surprise the opponent when he gets close enough to the font. Bladed Corpse: Pummel!!!!! Builds: 9spd, Rend 1, Pummel 2, +8hp for 79 nora 9spd, Pummel 2, Dodge 1, +4hp for 79 nora Uses: I've seen him used just for his DoT, and for Pummeling, whatever works best for your BG. Blood Fiend: Our once good but now only decent, berserker champ. Builds: Blood Frenzy 1, +6 hp for 44 nora Blood Frenzy 2, +8 hp, Lifedrinker for 59 nora Uses: A good font defender, can be crazy awesome against multiple units. Bonecrusher: He can stun... and that's about it. Builds: 9spd, Pulverize 2, siege, +6hp for 78 nora(Shrine Attacker) Uses: I've seen him used with death guard to shrine rush, stun helps him to plow through any unit in his way. Cleric of Unrest: Our Invigorating champion! Builds: *9spd, Invigorate 2, +2 hp for 69 nora Uses: Best used behind a behemoth, since he is a lich and can curse. Collection of Souls: Awesome Hp, another form of inspire, what more could you want? Builds: *9spd for 70 nora Uses: Used in death benefit, curse, and inspire BG's. Best to summon when opponent has many champs and your gonna kill them all. lol Dark Enchantress: Our fearing, charming, possessing, Phase Shifting champ Builds: 9spd, fear 1, phase shift, +2 hp for 69 nora 9spd, fear 1, phase shift, +2 hp, posses 2 for 79 nora Uses: Depending on the type of BG, i've seen this champ run to posses, to survive, and to kill for a cause. Dark Knight: Use to be an amazing champ but there's too much elemental damage now. He Auto-Reanimates but cost a lot to begin with. Builds: 11spd, Physical Resist 3, 12dmg, +6 hp for 117 nora Uses: He is one of the few champs that deserves to be over the 100 nora limit. Used to PWN SP, and any BG without elemental damage. Dark Messenger: Ranged, Flying, possibly immune magic champ. Builds: 11spd for 64 nora 11spd, immune-magic, +2 hp for 74 nora Uses: Possibly the poor man's Lich King. With flight and immune-magic, it can survive pretty well. Dead Fairy: Horrific Aura, Initiative, ranged magic, and it can fly. Buillds: 11spd, for 80 nora 11 spd, 40 hits, Aura 2 for 87 nora Uses: Possibly the poor man's other Lich King. with better range but lower Hp than the messenger, it survives with horrific aura Deadwood Strider: A dead tree... Builds: 9spd, +6 hp for 69 nora 9spd, +2hp, Sapping Blow 2 for 74 nora Uses: Theoretically, it can be used in a FW/KF BG. Another unit in Plumber's "No Escape BG" using sap 2 and warcrying soul siren, it can dish out some good damage. Death Guard: Can be used as either a bodyguard or Short Lived Tank. Builds: 9spd for 39 nora (Bodyguard) 9spd, SL2, Blood Rage, +4 hp for 64 nora Uses: One of the best bodyguard units in the game. Can also be used as a SL2 melee champ. Draco-Lich: Our Disease Breath Undead Dragon, with regeneration. Builds: 9spd, Disease Breath 2 for 85 nora Uses: Used with disease amp, and to help carrionlings stay alive. Great with Ghostly Visage and Immune-Magic. Cast Visage when he's low on health or surrounded. He can also still use Disease Breath. Elsari Siren: Body jumper can be used in various ways but low Hp Champ. Builds: 9spd, +6 hp for 69 nora Left alone for the soul purpose of dying Uses: best use so far is with Xulos and Drain. You choose when the paralysis happens so can be very helpful. Fallen Draksar: Our only Disarming Champ with Regen and Hunter: IS. Builds: Disarm, Regen 3 for 64 nora Disarm, 9spd, Regen 3, +4 hp for 74 nora Disarm, 9 spd, +6 hp for 69 nora Uses: Disarm and hunter IS helps deal with IS. Regen 2 or 3 really helps keep him alive. Fallen Hero: Our Hunter:Hero/Titan Builds: 9spd, curse 1, Melee Specialist 2, +6 hp for 74 nora (Tank) Uses: Don't know if they fixed the Hunter:Titan thing or if they will, but he's also great in curse bg's as a tank. Ghoul: Our only other disease amp... Builds: 9spd, Amp Disease for 67 nora Uses: To tip that amp for fester from 20% to 30%. This makes the damage start at 5 instead of 4. Gravewatcher: Even Cheaper reanimation! Pretty awesome IMO. Builds: *Vuln-Physical for 44 nora(Reanimate Me!) Uses: REANIMATE! Grekin: A great Skelly Meat Shield with exertion. Builds: +6 hp, Exert 2 for 64 nora +10 hp for 64 nora Uses: Personally, I love this champ. It never dies! The opponent usually ignores it because of it's low dmg. Boost 3 helps bring it to 10dmg, which is actually decent for a 65+hp 21 possible def champ. Infected Zombie: Our Swarming Festering Corpses champion. Builds: 9spd, +6 hp for 68 nora Uses: Used to attack as many units as possible before dying. Great in disease bg as he make more units for the opponent to deal with. Lost Queen: A Champ that forces the opponent to use a Spell or Summoned champ to kill it. Builds: 9spd +2 hp for 64 nora Uses: Yeah... about that... She really is lost... to the shoebox... Nether Wraith: PWNS in FW mirror matches Builds: *9spd, Hex 3, Vuln-Magic for 65 nora (HEX!) Uses: Stealth, Steal AP, and HEX! Skeletal Raider: I don't know about this guy... Builds: Mobility, +6 hp for 73 nora +8 hp for 69 nora Uses: a basic meat shield that leaves behind a skelly that can block. Not bad, but not good either. Shade Stalker: Energy Theif!! Builds: 11 speed, +8 hp for 88 nora Uses: Recently used in Plumber's "No Escape" BG That's about the only use i've seen. Toll Taker: Tariff is great in the long run. His range is a bit hard to work with but life siphon helps. Builds: 9spd, +6 hp for 64 nora 10spd, Life Siphon, +6 hp for 79 nora (Skelly BG) Uses: Tariff goes well in those shrine destroying BG's, can be run expensive with life siphon and Tomb Lord. Tormented Priest: Our Dark Healing, Disease Attacking, possibly Afflicting champ. Though many players replace him with a Decayed Skull, he is still a decent champ. Builds: Left alone as a font defender and healing stopper Afflict 2, +6 hp for 74 nora (Afflicting Champ) Uses: I've mostly just seen him as a shrine or font champ. Left in the back to stop healing and mabye attack if he has to. Last edited by xDiablo13x; 02-04-2009 at 07:39 PM. |

Here are our spells, starting with the best============================================== ========================================
Ratings are from 1-5 stars* Mobilization!!!!: ***** One of the reasons why people are scared of the dark. Works best when you have multiple units out. Hungry Dead!!: **** Our AoE! the best part about it is it doesn't hurt our units, except Necromancer. Domination!!: **** Insta-Possession? that could be an insta-kill for 50 nora. Reanimate!!:**** Care to reanimate a Xulos, Titan, or LK? For 65 nora you get the same champ again! Festering Wounds!!: **** Global Damage for 35 nora?! Combine with UT, sit back and enjoy. Essence Drain!: *** A death touch from out of no where. a bit costly but worth it. Best when used on a full Hp Champ. Weaken: *** Reduces a champ to to a pathetic state, finish him quick though. Ghostly Visage: *** Keeps you champ alive but can't attack while in Incorporeal form. Incorporeal doesn't protect from magic either. The good thing is you can attack again on your turn. You can also cast it on your opponent's champion to make then unable to attack. You can then hurt it with magic damage, but keep in mind that he has mobility Soul Cage: *** Doesn't work well with Festering Wounds, but goes well with loss of life. IE death touch, essence drain, and chopping block. Chain Lightning:*** 30 damage for 40 nora?! Woot! Execution Order: *** takes to long to exert all of your champs but good idea all in all. Dark Rising: ** Cost too much nora for what it does. Only works OK if you have a Tomb Lord out. Decay:** Not as cost efficient as a skull of decay, but blocks 100% of healing and does that much damage. Best used against regeneration champs. Desecration:** A nice wide-ranged AoE for 35 nora, not too bad. Plague:** You can only plague units you control, so you have to touch other units to disease them. Throw Bones: ** Gives your units 1 Ap, and heals all Undead 5hp. Good to use on Summoned units. Necroweave: ** Quote:

Here are our treasured relics, and the not so treasured relics============================================ ===============================
Ratings are from 1-5 stars* Elsarin Vex!!!!!:***** Our Warbanner! If you can afford one or can craft one, you better do so. No BG should go without a Warbanner. +5hp to all your units, refunds nora, and adds Def + Atk Unholy Tomb!!!: ***** Decent Nora Generation, and Hurts all enemy units 1hp per round. Great for Festering Wounds and against numerous enemies. Tome Of Hate!!!: ***** The best shrine healing in the game. Only downside is that it hurts your units as well. Skull Of Decay: **** Reduces All "Enemy Healing" by 50% so you can still heal you own units. Sacrificial Altar: *** Goes through everything, even impervious. Goes good with summoned Skelly's. Witches Hourglass: *** Can give your opponents hell for letting a champ die. Chopping Block: *** A very Decisive relic, Who ever has the higher hp units wins. Graveyard: ** Can be used to boost your Tomb Lord or keep your shrine hurt for a ToH. Junk Relics============================================ ================================================== ================== Cursed Temple: Quote:

Equipment of the Undead============================================ ================================================== =======
Ratings are from 1-5 stars* Sacrificial Dagger!!: ***** pretty much an insta-heal for your unit, but also puts a bullseye on your unit. Crown of Corruption: ***** Possession every turn, on a map full of chasms and lava? Yay! Blight Ring: **** They die relatively fast for just 25 nora! PWNAGE! Cursed Blade: **** Cheap, effective, and comes back in no time. Fleshsewn Helm: *** Gives physical resist and Disease Aura, but a bit costly. Lichbone Staff: ** Can be used with Soulharvester and gives incorporeal people an attack Shield of Darkness: ** Exactly like granite bracers but FW units don't need to stay alive that long Ethereal Mindshank: ** Junk Equipment========================================= ================================================== ================= Ancient Elsari Helm Last edited by xDiablo13x; 11-30-2008 at 09:26 AM. |

A couple of thought to include:
Ghostly Visage. Cast on a unit you would like to take out of the game for 4 turns. If you have a couple of magical units. (Liches, Dead Fairies and Dark Messengers) you can even hurt the foe, while he is unable to attack. Drain the Earth. Mayby not the topspell, but protecting your Lich King or Xulos from Hammer Strike is pretty nice for 20 Nora. And the spell has identical duration and cooldown.

I am sure, but you misunderstood me :)
You cast it on your enemys rune. That way he is incorporal and cant harm you, while you can harm him with magical attacks. :) Daner |
