Talking about nefari torch reminds me that seige monster is bad as hell it blocks both sides relic i ran it with mino and replaced mark with exile pretty bad though
blood draught is actually pretty useful in a UD bg due to how much harder it makes you hit. When short lived comes around (if it comes around) you can either just shatter/ret/sac the champ.
The blood draught is a great equip for its price. +melee specialist, enrage, and blood balls. As long as you know those mechanics it's golden. Flesh grinder isn't to bad as a sac, retribution substitute. It's hard to make it worth it, and I'd rather run the latter. Grimlic's Treachery sounds great, but it isn't anymore. Anything with IS in it is immune to it, so forget about making a bg that can compete with it as more then likely it is useless in 1 out of 8 games. Second 2 damage per deep elf is a hell of a requirement to match for an easy to use spell like superiority. (which is also a racial elf, demon spell) The only time that it would ever be better is if you play someone playing a non-ud elf theme. If shadowrake is amazing then we must be a top tier faction as this guy is the official current mascot of how UD is right now. Expensive as hell? Check... Sand bagged with an expensive hunter utility? check... Squishy stats? check... utility crammed onto a frail melee beater? check! Same goes for voidraker^ Void touch 16 nora?! wtf, I doubt it'll cancel out a 16 nora ability.
I'd say Incinerator, just because Melt is such a huge sandbag. Other candidates are Firestarter, Darkness, Soul Feed, Scepter of Onus, and Cursed Epitaph.
wtf are you talking about. shadowrake is designed excellently. the way the shadow dance or whatever ability works in conjunction with pawn is awesome. also how the hell is hunter quick a bad ability. being over 80 nora doesnt make it unrunnable so no
Hunter quick is a bad ability when you consider how many speed 7 champs there are. Costing 12 nora for something that probably won't be used isn't awesome. Another example is hunter meek. Not to mention stasis +80 nora isn't good. Good luck with a game drawing only a shadowrake 1st turn, or any turn for that matter.
shadow rake is 8 speed it can still cap any font within 7-12 spaces in the same amount of time as a 6 speed unit. hunter quick is essentially hunter KF as well as any other unit that happens to be 7 speed. hunter meek is also useful because in the current meta people love to spam the hell out of cheap units as well as being helpful against FW. fact of the matter is when shadowrake is on the board its going to make a big impact because its an extremely powerful champion with its only downside being that u have to wait 3 turns to use it
Darkness is one of those runes that isn't meant for a meta deck... it's just there waiting for the right crazy combo deck.

for 60 nora, darkness doesn't seem viable. But it's not the worst thing in UD if you want to slow the game down/need a certain rune I guess.
I'm just so reluctant to play Blood Draught because of the short lived but that doesn't really matter with sacrifice. I used fleshgrinder with imp familiar to keep him healed and going but it was just too expensive of a combo. It would be interesting if fleshgrinders magic damage hit the closest champ rather than a champ 6 spaces away. kind of like the ritual of destruction.
Cursed Epitaph I consider the worst rune in UD. It has literally no synergy with UD at all and no place in any UD BG ever. In a split with FW maybe, but even there I guess you can find better options.
Darkness was used really effectively for stitched concealer base rush bg at one point. I think that triggered a nora hike for the spell.
Helm of Chaos, Banish, Cursed Epitaph, Lava Trap, Demon Call. All stuff I do not like in UD as they are currently (8/2/15) described or priced.
