Even though the "stuff" he has is part of a dead game, it still represents worth. His hoard is a result of the creativity, ideas, ingenuity and work the he put in. He should either be compensated for the value of his inventory or just hold them on a dead account. He should not redistribute the wealth to those sitting there with their hands out, regardless of if you dress it up with a "but wutubout the tourney" plea. If your tourney is important enough to you, trade the dollars you've earned through your own hard work for the value of the inventory he's created through his. Asking for something free is such an insult to yourself.
as far as myself ,, I have a pretty big collection ,,, so im not asking for anything. it was merely a suggestion to induce play I guess its how one sees it,,, a man can spend his life amassing a fortune through hard work and creativity. .. what should he do with his fortune when he dies? give it to people that can use and enjoy it , or burn it all to the ground.. theres a difference. between greed and waste.
For me poxbox was as essential as the game itself - it was the missing economical mmo aspect, and getting valuable runes as a reward for your skill rather than dumb purchase or grind was as fun as winning matches. Sure, with tourneys gone and forge present it's less relevant now, but it's still 20% vs 50% for noobs, and who knows maybe dog decide to revive the game someday. And btw the biggest issue for setting a new store is not coding, but initial stock - your experience can still be applied later for another project and bring you money even if this one fails, while stock can't - so deleting runes is a bad idea regarding the community (of course if it's not just a threat to boost sales).
There's also many more options than that. And you have no right to judge greed/waste or otherwise, its not yours.
What I don't understand is how the people who managed Pox Nora were so ****** dumb as to not do this themselves. All they need to do is create a system whereby people trade in high for lower value, just like pox box did. Make it easy to do and it drains "value" out of the massive collection that is represented by everyone. They way they gain more "currency" is to purchase more packs whereby Pox Nora sells them a crap ton of stuff they don't want for the few things they do want, so they can then trade down to other things they really want. Churn churn churn. But no, they wanted to do stuff that alienates players, is a horrid experience for new players and earns them an even worse fiscal position than they had before. EPIC (failure)
of course there are more options,, thats why were on a forum discussing, offering suggestions and putting in our 2cents,,
ahhhh I see now, you think handing out a few cards that nobody will ever use is some form of socialism... I dont think its that deep bruh. again , its just how one sees it. if I had a buncho shiat that I wasnt gonna use no more,,, id glady give it out. You wouldn't. ..no biggie.
Yeah, so would I. I gave away runes before people gave away runes (when they were actually worth something) I spent money buying packs that I didn't want to help the game out, then ran a thread giving it all away. My problem is not with the giving, it's with the passive aggressive pressure people put on others to do as THEY see fit with the other persons stuff, or else they'll label you with conducting yourself in a negative way (wasteful). It's not wasteful, it's simply the result of a decision he rightfully makes as the sole custodian of the things he possesses.
I understand ,, I recently posted about how id spend a 100$ min each release, , and I dont evem care so much about gettin the new cards,, just to support pox, I get that. and I certainly am not trying to pressure anyone (deconders a big boy). basically any suggestion I post is never for my own gain,, and always for the betterment of pox, even if im wrong. thats all
usually i don't hope for anybody bad things, but i think it would be interesting, and i'm sorry for that, if you at some point had some problem that your money / insurance couldn't cover. so maybe you understand that social policies to help the community have a common standard base are useful. anyway this isn't the place to discuss that. decondor has complete right to disappear with all runes. but who gains anything from that? he might try to sell top end lims, then find a way to share the remains or give them to dogs, or something else. thats up to him. nobody is going to pay for the full stock anyway.
Thats pretty horrible. You're wishing bad things on (cursing) me because you don't agree with me? And my children? and my wife who spends all of of her working day running a world-wide charity and nights on her family? I mean... wow. Explains to me how that fits into your social morality. Please. Don't pretend you didn't read this. I really want to know. You can PM it or start a new thread if thread-integrity is important to you.
Putting them in the hands of the top 5 players in this game is also a waste. There is no difference... Tournaments are fine, but they really only cater to the top players in the game. Therefore, these "limited runes" would only land with them and what good does that do the community? Let 'em disappear I say....
only top players? we have 3 30+ players tournaments in one year. 1/4 of partecipants are new everytime...
i didn't wish you any big problem. just said it would be interesting to see your reaction in a situation like that. i wouldn't be happy if something serious happened to you, even if i don't know you. just a scientific/sociological interest.
spoiler: because people are weak and get easily corrupted by power. also explain "win", because having people in debt to get an education doesn't seem a win to me.
