Seam like we have a fix. I did what Redashes did and i worked. However i also needed to disable my avg firewall the similar way. after that it worked and launcher were installing updates with out a problem and started the game. after that i enable my firewall again and restarted the computer. The game still loads so this is awesome. thank you very much redashes. you rule.
Yeah I found his post and have added it to the PC Troubleshooting thread. http://forums.poxnora.desertowlgames.com/index.php?threads/pc-troubleshooting.1487/ If this solution does not address the problem for some make sure to post here so we know there is more to this issue than just a firewall setting.
Please keep us posted....not really interested in returning to the 10.8 , currently running 10.9.2 here. And thank you for your efforts.
It should be able to run on that version of Mac OS because it is newer than version 10.9.2. Could you tell me step by step what you are doing and what happened?
Wow, I hope there is a better solution than disabling all firewalls to play Pox Nora. That opens the user up to all sorts of Internet threats, if no other firewall is enabled, and/or the Windoze Firewall is not renabled after every single game of Pox Nora, also requiring a reboot possibly. Is it just Windoze Firewall that is the problem? What about 3rd-party firewalls like Outpost or others?
Yes...sorry about the delay. I launch Pox from the "p in a circle" icon and then a hard drive icon appears on the desktop. After a minute, a rectangle appears in the center of the screen, and ass the game loads in immediately reads the connection error sign. Checking for Updates.... is in the left corner of the screen and thats it. It says updating in a grey box on the bottom right of the screen and i remain there.
Wait, hold the phone....i think it's loading now, i launched the game from the applications folder as apposed to launching it from a shortcut. Downloading 205 files! And I'm back in, thanks for all the help!
days ago i wz able to play pox at the cost of PC RESTART but now it isnt starting i ve uninstalled nd reinstalled it.. although updater ran succesfully and did all 200 MB of update still im seeing "connection lost or unavailable" nd restarting pc , turning off firewall, etc isnt helping!!! PLZ HELP!!!!
When you uninstalled and reinstalled did you delete the Pox Nora folder that was left behind? If not try deleting the folder. It sounds stupid, but it has worked for some.

Try uninstalling Pox Nora and make sure you delete the Pox Nora folder in your install directory. Then download the newest version of java. https://www.java.com/en/download/ After java is installed then reinstall Pox Nora https://www.poxnora.com/download.do Also, low RAM can affect performance. Try disabling any unnecessary programs that may be running in the background.

It does not connect, like in the first picture you've show. I tryed to reinstall, also to unable the Windows Firewall, but nothing changes. It's Windows 7 here.

Were you able to play before and this is just a recent occurrence? If you start a forum conversation with me and attach your error and output log. These are found in your Pox Nora install directory in the logs folder. Example: C/Program Files/Desert Owl Games/Pox Nora/logs. You can use services like drop box to post the files in the conversation, and do not edit the contents or name of the file. We can look into this, but an issue like this could be caused by numerous factors some of which may be outside our control.
