Has this game been renewed since sony any changes or is it still a dead game. I would like to play but so many changes since Sony. I have no clue on how to play anymore.

There's a voluntary dev team working on improving the client while the OG devs are trying their luck elsewhere. The game is now available only on Steam and PS4 but has consistent and steadily growing numbers of people actively playing it.
