Still a really nicely drawn map. Wish they'd get it back in.

I like the Rude! maps

 

WHAT WHY? WHY REMOVE A PERFECTLY GOOD MAP.

 

Because matches consisted entirely of moving back and forth contesting eachothers fonts and ignoring eachothers units.

 

No reason to remove such a nice looking map. They just need to sort the fonts out. 1 near/behind each base and one to each side of the centre, or possibly in the centre itself.

and this was my suggestion:


The idea would be, the near fonts can be capped in first turns (6), and far fonts are 2 turns away from the near font and 2 away from the enemy's shrine, so the first deploy captures natural fonts and contest the far font against enemy's second deploy, and winning the far font implies great threath to the shrine.

 

Can't place the FS-represented shrine like that, it'll make Vortex a nightmare for 2x2s

 

That map was so fun! I don't know why they removed it...

Yes, I agree, keep in mind that is a badly paint cut pic. The important thig is the overall layout and the spacng I proposed.
It should be you cap your font first turn with your champion and with that same champion you can reach opponent's far font at the same time that his second deploy, that is in the third turn, as the font should be at least 10 spaces away from the opponent's shrine. Your enemy does the same on the other side.

 

what if the top and bottom fonts traded places with the avatars...

 

I feel like it would be shores of maljara with 4 fonts instead of 2, that map is the best one in rotation (IMO), but I wanted to generate a different tactical situation.

 

Gabriel's new map would be okay if the first player didn't always deploy to get his font then deploy another rune to go contest enemy font turn 3.
