Figured I would post it here for now. Any new players that are still indecisive or want a slightly better overview of the factions; here it is. This is a rough draft I will be tinkering with it over time. Feel free to point out spelling, grammar, and punctuation errors. If you have something to add post it. If @Senshu supports this. Then I will perodically ask him to clean up the comments for the sake of keeping this clean. As of now, all comments will be towards the betterment of this "Index" Once the guide is complete. All comments will be there for eternity. I hope. PLEASE NOTE: This is a huge undertaking and is currently a shotgunned mess. Feel free to post format ideas down below. All art is subject to change... Plans... Spoiler FS Boghopper Circadian Firk Jellebrium Pirahnid Salaman Snaptooth FW Lich Skeleton Spirit Witches Worm Vampyre Zombie (Going to put mutants in SL, since most Mutants in FW were turned into Zombies/Lichs) (Undead as a race is stupid imho, it's like Dragonkin, or Mirefolk, its a group classification thing instead of an actual race. Saying Race: Skeleton, Undead, is basically saying Race: Undead, Undead...) IS Barbarian Construct Dwarf Grintmaw (Kind of a low list, I think we could throw Paladins, and possibly "Griffins/Beasts to fill it out, but IS is one of those heavy set overarching theme factions.) KF Centaur Elf/Elven ?.? Fairly/Fae ?.? Garu Ent/Treefolk ?.? Vashal (Naming assistance, and they have a serpent race in there, I'm going to ignore for now.) ST Crystal/ ? ?.? Dragon (Should be clear in the visual of the banner they vastly differ from SL's dragons) Ferren Jakei Lonx Strig Yeti SP Cyclops Beast (I think beast should primary go here.) (Lets plan for a 'Safari' Beast page.) Djinn (I honestly think we should) Fesh G'hern Hyaenid Moga Slag Voil SL Arthropod (I consider SL spiders to be Arthropods, an UD to be Spiders. I think we should mention the unique Arthropods to be found here, as Arthropods are a classified of multiple types of insect of which Spiders fall under that category.) Dragon Draksar Mutant Myx Skeezick (What to do about Skywings? Don't know if they should be done, they're basically dragons with ADHD) UD Arachnid Bok Demon Demon Elf (Dark Elf/Elves might be a better name) Goblin Imp Minotaur Spider (Different name, possibly Demon Siders, or Arachnids, on second thought, Arachnids is fine.) (Nefari are just Deep Elfs, similar to the Darkmarsh are just Boghoppers.) I would stick to the actual race names as you search for them in the Rune Manager, otherwise you could confuse new players. They could miss that Grintmaw are Trolls, and that Marsh Troll also fits the BG. For SL, I would put Myx/Arthropod just under Arthropod. Skywings are just Dragons, they aren't used exclusively any more. Beasts should be a category in each faction, I believe they all have enough to make BGs. You could even just make a Universal post that has Beasts. As for Paladins, I think you need to decide if you are doing a list of themes in factions or a list of races. If you're doing themes, then Paladins should be their own, but Djinn shouldn't be, since they rely on Nids. Also, if you're doing themes, the names don't need to stick to the rune manager, but then you should have a primary races field in the description.
I'm going to try, and I plan to have hyperlinks where applicable, including the images. So Grintmaw would show all Trolls. My thoughts exactly. A bit redundant to do it 8 times over. A universal post would be for the best I agree. Still trying to think of how. Might have to do it like a Safari poster. Pic with an explanation of what you can find in each 'habitat'. Here's the thing. I'm a bit picky in how I view somethings, and there's no doubt it's going to show, but I'll try to keep my views out of the information when possible. As for the Race/Theme issue. Ideally I'd like to do races, but how Pox goes about showing it's runes is a little convoluted. The only reason I considered Paladins is that IS is limited in it's races. Kinda low on ideas to fix it. This could be a solution to the above, but Dwlr is already providing a pretty hefty amount of time. I'd like to first finish what I have planned. I hope to expand this thread further, and that could defiantly be apart of it.
While ST has a fair number of dragons there is nothing linking them together so not really sure if they should be listed. Beasts are far more prevalent and supported. Also ferren are nothing more than monks for the moment which makes it seem odd that monk isn't there but the race subset is. If and when ( think sok has said they are being changed ) ferren get something for themselves it would make sense. IS should get one for wings, and probably paladins even if they cover half the faction. Noticed there is no amp, frost has been a staple of ST pretty much from the beginning and poison and fire ( or atleast fire eater) see a fair amount of play. Looking at it this is a list of races not just themes. if that is the intention of the list then the only ones I noticed and have a problem with are ST dragons, IS wings, and maybe beasts don't think I've ever seen a SP beast bg. If it is supposed to be themes it seems like there are several that could be added. Another thing I noticed strig can't even field a full bg, I assume this is just a shell for flight but thought it should be pointed out.
