Raid Leader is fine for an Aggro Paladin to start with, but there are probably better decks to start with. When you can, I'd recommend switching to Dire Wolf Alpha regardless. They are cheaper, and while Raid Leader might seem like you'll get more damage, you won't often have that much benefit by comparison. DWA are common so it should be an easy enough upgrade to obtain. If playing Arena, there are almost always better options.
Yea, no trade, no chat, etc. is fairly common for this genre now. And I do agree it makes a lot of sense from both a play experience and development point of view (trading is a nightmare of a system, and for Pox it allowed a level of fraud and exploit that almost shut it down before it really got started, very early on). Team games are a bit different, you need chat/communication tools for that at least for your own team (e.g. League now defaults to muting opponents).
So, how you guys liking Inspire/Joust mechanics? I think it's kind of too early to tell, but I don't think it will be "meaningless" as some people are making it out to be. Two things to keep in mind that are facts are: 1) Since Jousting does require luck involved, its too unreliable for constructed; 2) Inspire is a "slow" mechanic, since it requires you to spend mana on the hero power whereas you could be dropping champs/spells. Putting that aside, here's what I think: 1) Jousting will be incredible in Arena, the advantages given by it are very relevant in a non constructed environment and I feel Jousting cards will "dominate" Arena tier rankings; 2) Inspire is the perfect mechanic for any control deck, these decks got huuuuuugeee improvements due to this. So, while they may not slow the game down per se, it is certainly a huge buff to control bgs, which we will see more often for sure. While I do think that there was no need to release that many bad cards on this expasion, I also feel that these mechanics are certainly impactful in their own way and both are very refreshing for the game. Regarding the meta, again Im stuck at ranks 4, 5. However, each time I play I learn something new and improve a little bit, its just a matter of time now. Having said that, I think meta will remain almost the same as far as power of the decks are concerned and we need a nerf to Warrior Patron ASAP.
Jousting I think could be good if you build your deck to accommodate it, think of jousting like a harrison, slightly inefficient when you are not in the right matchup but if you are vs say zoo it will be great most of the time. Some of them it is basically free on too. Random doesn't mean it can't be used, look at rag, ysera, shaman. Inspire I want to be good, not sure it will be though.
Pulled Rhonin and Eydis. Saved me a lot of dust getting lucky. Now just need to work out what to spend my spare dust on Been running spell damage mage and damn its good. Arcane explosion and Dalaran mage are useful! Absolutely wrecks aggro with value plays. Did a 14 damage frostbolt to the face last game!
Expected to swap out Dalaran Mage for flamewakers by now but he is turning out to be MVP. The fact that he is ignored by removal and trading (this nub is playing Dalaran huehue) is setting up my tempo swings. played about 10 matches with it, only lost the first.
Just pulled off 3 arcane missiles with malygos out. 33 damage for 3 mana. I was on 4 life, opponent was on 23 life.... poor guy.
I got very lucky... and my computer stopped working properly shortly before the set released. *cries* This is one of the few times I actually wished I owned a tablet or something. @Jib If it makes you feel any better, I got five Prophet Velens in sequence (Meaning every time I opened a Leg I'd get Velen until I got five of them). Anyway, at one point, I just took it as a sign to play Priest. Perhaps the game is telling you the same.
It kinda did. Opened a Golden Chillmaw, used that sweet Paletress dust to get 2x Twilight Guardians and crafted Ysera. All in dragon priest.
Warriors errywhere! So I switched to grinder. Frostbolt x2 Explosive Sheep x1 Mad Scientist x2 Duplicate x2 Effigy x1 Ice Barrier x1 Ice Block x1 Big Game Hunter x1 Illuminator x1 Fireball x2 Polymorph x2 Water Elemental x2 Antique Healbot x2 Sludge Belcher x2 Loatheb Blizzard x1 Emporer Thaurissan Flame Strike x2 Dr. Boom Rhonin Nefarian I think this is the most Legendaries I have ever shoved into a deck before. But damn fatigue warrior is annoying. Getting Duplicate and Effigy to proc at the same time is hilarious! If I had Harrison I would probably swap out Rhonin for him considering the matchups atm.
I call this deck 'Confused Medic'. Yes I have no imagination..... Holy Smite x2 Power Word Shield x2 Northshire Cleric x2 Confuse Divine Spirit x2 Mind Blast x2 Shadow Word Pain x2 Crazed Alchemist x2 Iron Beak Owl x2 Shadow Word Death x2 Velens Chosen x2 Death Lord x2 Mass Dispel Holy Champion x2 Tournament Medic x2 Holy Nova x2 All it takes is a medic or deathlord surviving a turn for an easy OTK. Tends to catch warlocks and priests with their pants down
Sorry guys, was away on vacations and didn't really have the time/will to log on Pox forums. So, since I last posted, this is what happened in my HS universe: 1) Season ended at #3 ranking, some sweet rewards from the chest there; 2) Opened 50 pre-purchased TGT decks, got me a couple of Avianas - suffice to say I was very frustrated by that; 3) Opened 30 more packs with gold, which net me 5 new legendaries - WTF; 4) Made a brand new secret paladin bg, winstreak like crazy. Rank 5 has already been achieved. All in all I'd say TGT was a big success and the more time passes by the more people will realise some strong decks can be put together. Also, crafted Justicar. Seemed like the only "must have" rune of this expansion, at least for me.
Well, in terms of level of BS, Patron still > Secret pala. But yeah, I feel you. I will be dropping it soon, though, only 300 more ranked victories for the gold portrait then Im done. "Soon". Edit: also, would like to point out that Im playing a midrange version of secret pala, not that hyper aggro that empties the board by turn 3 and then divine favors ftw.
