I see people refer to the first stat as attack and others refer to it as damage. I've always referred to it as damage, attack is a stat that has been discontinued.
Once upon a time, many years ago, champs had both an attack stat and a damage stat. Damage was the damage they dealt and attack was a number that was calculated against the opponents defence. Defence worked completely differently back then, champs had like 15 def.
That's why I call the current stat Damage not Attack. Occasionally you'll still see champs with 15 def, but it's a lot more work to get it that high.
I just had to go with tar, there was no other way. EDIT: yeah, just noticed the multi option thing too, so I went with dmg. Thing is, historical distinction aside, think about stuff like the difference between arrow eater and elusive. I think of the attack as the attempt to inflict damage and if it goes through whatever might resist/dodge it, then it inflicts damage. A unit can have a damage stat referring to its ability to inflict dmg, but it may never attack for whatever reason.
Well it definitely isn't tar, and we all know that. Some people are intentionally disrupting the outcome of this survey. Shame
